I roll in Sport mode as default and only very occasionally in Tour if have some brief bumpy spots so I never encounter the switch to 4 cyl mode and thus don't need to disable anything, but from what I have read here it sounds like a very good solution to help avoid the transmission issues encountered with the A8.

Amazon may save a few bucks, but the word is to go with the factory. You get the latest version, with no battery depleting issues. Had mine for a year, no issues whatsoever.

You are kidding the gang with this comment, aren't you? Some of the A8 crowd who have never been exposed to the M7 design cars may be taking you seriously. The M7 car will not go into V4 mode unless you have the powertrain adjustment feature set to ECO mode.....Tour, Sport and Track modes don't allow for the V4 function.

Unless you're on really nice roads all the time, driving in Sport as a regular thing will increase the odds of cracking your OEM wheels sooner if you are still running them. If you have a 2015, it will not go into AFM unless you're in ECO mode. The 2016 and later model A8's will go into V4 mode in all driving modes. I installed a Range module in my 2016 ZO6 and 2019 GS and it worked like a charm with both cars

When my '19 Z06 / Z07 was stock, this was one of my first "mods." I immediately noticed a positive difference. Their is a reason it wasn't included on the ZR1

If your state requires emissions testing, you'll need to remove the Range and put a few drive cycles on your C7.

I've since sold my range and had AFM tuned out and my had trans tuned. Check out For Sale forum here for other forum members selling theirs. Or buy direct from Range with the latest source code. I think the $10 coupon is active.

This is a great product, I just installed it, and no problems at all. I have a 2019 Z06 A8. Looking forward to it saving my torque converter.
The latest firmware version is 8.6, I can leave it plugged in and it does not drain my battery. I only drive this car on weekends.

I have not heard that before but as far as I could tell my 2015 would go into 4cyl in sport, track and tour until I used the range.

Maybe I missed something but why are you not wanting it to go in 4cyl mode while cruising?

Sound profile, the odd sensatuon of it kicking in and out of v8 v4 mode, the fact v4 mode isn't really that efficient. Pick one. I'm sure there are others.

M7 cars even in eco mode and driving with a light foot would find it hard to get it to hit v4 in all but the perfect conditions. Penty of videos show m7 cars barely using it despite wanting to use it for long drives.

I just ordered one! I have a 2018 GS with 3000 miles, of course still under warranty. Should I have the triple flush done as well?

Yes, you should but unless you complain of a shudder from the transmission the dealer will want you to pay for it and for a ZO6 of GS you're looking at $350-$450 out of pocket. That;s what I was quoted from a large Chevy dealer that sells a lot of Vettes.
