rear diff breaking

rear diff breaking

I have read a few instances of the rear differential breaking when drag racing the C7Z. Is this a real issue I should worry about now that Im thinking of taking my car to the track?

Yeah that might be a concern then at the drag strip. I'm at a little over 950whp and was told by the shop that did my build that as long as I wasn't going to the drag strip I would be fine at that power level on the street, but drag strip would be a different story if I was going often.

If you hook it up, yes you will start breaking things. I've had 5 drivetrain failures in my 16 Z06. You can really look at your 60' time. Once you go below 1.40's it happens pretty quick. My last failure was the flex plate and it's been replaced 3 times. I've gone to a RPM Wavetrac diff and GForce axles. Right now I'm taking the summer off of drag racing. It's just too hot for my health. When it gets cooler I'll go back. My last 3 times at the track the car had to be towed home or straight to a shop.
