If that's the case then I'm confused. I was pretty certain it's a Caddy, but that's a Corvette door.

I'm sure when all said and done, this thing will be amazing. Heck, I'll buy it just for more traction. It was 60 degrees this am and I had to drive like " Miss Daisy " was in the trunk.

and the "naysayers" have not been claiming this car doesn't exist; but instead that it's not the 2019 "C8".

So is it going to be a V-8 twin turbo like the new Ferrari 488GTB, the McLarens, the AMG GT-S and GT-R, or a V-6 twin turbo like the Nissan GT-R, new NSX, Ford GT?

Yes, it does. I've never liked the side profile look of the Gallardo's front fenders.

I have no doubt such a vette would capture the attention of the younger generation coming up. I know that is what GM is going for, but they better not go nuts with pricing. Nobody is going to buy a 90k base vette in 2021 or whenever the production version for the masses comes out.

As for me, a 36 year old, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around this being a corvette. I like the proportions from the doors back but the proportions of that front end looks like a knock-off of every mid engine car ever made. I may be getting old...

That's what I asked a couple post back as well. Should be interesting, the general rarely disappoints on power-plant.

dream on. it's not the taillights. it's everything else about the c7 rear end design. just because others don't agree with you doesn't mean that they are idiots.

There are supposedly two cars. Or so I hear.

IVER cars use the correct body panels. As an example this car has the C7 underneath, panel for panel.

Another C7 example so you get the idea of how the "diaper camo" can change the look of a car.

LT1 was talking about computer aided design (CAD) parts, not cadillac parts.

Well I'm thinking it won't be replacing the C7 anytime soon, we are only entering year 4 with it. The shortest period for a corvette platform so far has been 8 years, 1997-2004. So I'm thinking we will see the stingray around till at least 2020, that would be 7....it took guys 2 years to get over the round headlights, just think if the entire line went to mid-engine haha

I get that... and that's not what I was talking about. Most sources are saying the "supercar" will be a Cadillac. LT1 says these mules have all production panels on them. The car pictured clearly has a C7 a-pillar and door on it. If it were a Caddy then you'd think it would have a very different door on it.

If you're talking about generations, it would be the "C2" from 63'-67', but most of that car made it to C3, 68'-82'. But most of the C5 made it to the C6.

The ZERV team ("Emperor" might be the marketing code or the Cadillac code name, ZERV is what engineering uses for the Mid-Engine "Corvette") is run by the same guys who run the Corvette. It's under the "GM Performance" umbrella. ZERV BTW comes from CERV where the Z stands for Zora instead of Corvette.

Since GM Performance would develop both vehicles, and realistically they could be identical from a chassis perspective, one could assume that development would start on one, then move to the other. For example the ZERV IVERs could also be cut up and used as Cadillac Supercar MULEs in 3-6 months. This would also stagger the introduction to allow for maximum marketing. But if we don't see different body IVERs soon the Cadillac if it still exists would be launched 18-24 months later.
