I ordered a C7 in April 2014 I I drove it as a daily driver for four years and 42,000 miles. The fit and finish was perfect and I never experienced any issues with it.

So MSRP for a regular 2021 stingray will go up from a 2020??

I own first year models of my cars and love them to death. For all the horror stories of bad cars, there are also tons of good ones.

Why are denigrating others just because of their timing on a car purchase? If you don't trust first year models, don't buy one. If you do then do. Simply as that.

Prices tend to go up every year on everything. Inflation and market adjustments. Prices on corvettes went up 3 grand from 2014 to 2015. No crystal ball for 2020 to 2021 though. Who knows. Id be shocked if they dont though considering the value.

Because I want one.

Money doesn't bring me any joy just sitting there. Plus I'll be Z06ing it next year and someone else will be rolling the dice with a second hard first year model.

Default Buy at MSRP and enjoy now

I hope I do not eat my words...with C8 lol.

if you buy for MSRP then not paying fool’s premium.

#2, name a car in the last decade that was released as a new model that was a total disaster from a pure recurring mechanical point of view? With CAD, AI, computer testing and mules driving in snow, ice and rain over hundreds of thousands of miles or more- the older days of not buying a first year may be a thing of the past? I bought an all new 2010 First year Camaro and zero issues. I bought the first year 2014 Stingray and zero issues. I bought the new 2015 Mustang GT with first time IRS in the car and zero issues. I bought the first year Challenger and zero issues. Yes I like American muscle. Plan on first year C8 too. Order in.

1. I had good luck with my first year C6 (only one problem fixed under warranty) so why not take a chance on a first year C7?

2. I had good luck with my first year C7 (only one problem, failed NAV ribbon cable, fixed under warranty) so why not take a chance on a first year C8?

3. A little waiting can pay off. I waited six months from the time the first C7’s hit the lots in SEP. I purchased my 2014 C7 Z51 (MSRP $69K) in March 2014 at almost $7K off sticker. (I think the dealer wanted to move that particular vehicle because it was a Manual-7 and nobody seemed to want a manual).

I also had a 2005 first year C6. Took delivery in November of 2004. It was the best one I had by far. I wish I just kept it. I also had a 2008 and 2009. And both of those were back to the shop for several warranty work issues.

I think the first year run there are a lot of eyes on the first builds. I'm sure there are engineers form all the major parts suppliers in the factory making sure the first one coming off the line are good to go.

The last "first year" Corvette that was a reliability disaster was the 1984 model, but since then the first year of every new generation has been fairly reliable. I realize the C8 has a lot of new technology though, but that's what warranties are for.

I always like latest and greatest. They will stay full MSRP probably for first 6 months, then start to see discounts.

Can't wait for mine.

Default Talking modern times , this decade.

As mentioned, this decade technological tools for testing was a game changer for new car releases. Anyone name a new car release that was a total mechanical disaster and horror story for the company since 2010?

The extensive use of computers and robots have revolutionized the automotive industry and made new models far less problematic. In the 1970s, American auto manufacturers were maligned for the poor quality and bad engineering of their vehicles. Currently, robotic-assisted auto manufacturing allows a car to be made with much more precise welds, closer tolerances and more accurate engineering overall than could be achieved with human help. So the C8 may still have initial quality problems, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable buing a new model in 2020 that I did in 2000. Moreover, I bought a 981S in its introductory year, and have had no quality problems. So if Porsche can do it, so can GM.

Never say always. The first year C-7 is one of the best C-7s.

2014 A6 is tons more reliabile than any future C7 with the A8.

my Grandfather had the new 1984 when it came out and sold a week later due to it being a rattle trap and his wife being afraid to get in it. That is when the quality control issues were much worse and I'm sure the C8 wou

2015 C7 went up 4K which is way over inflation rate. I'm sure if the C8 is a hit that will be the same - no more base under 60k. will net out any discounts until end of model run

I can't wait that long, but I'm still debating between a new C8 or new C7 and save 15-20k. will know in a few months

My plan last week was to put a deposit down on the New 2020 Porsche 911S.

I didn't think Chevy could impress me with the C8. The pre-reviews had tons of complaints.

Then the reveal happened and I was sold.

I had no problem buying the New Porsche because like you said it's Evolutionary and it's been around 50+ years, similar to the Toyota Camry. Both are proven success.

I want the C8 Z06, hopefully, it will be announced at the end of year one so I can place my order.

If not, then I'll get the C8 Z51.

I also see lots of members here buying at MSRP, I have no issues with that.

And that's why I have an '86
