Economic "utility" is largely based on what value the individual places on the product. Personally I am not a big CF fanboy so I would opt out...the only time I would pay for CF is if a real weight savings is to be had.

Me, I like real Structural Carbon Fiber--like the stuff used to make F1 chassis.
The Faux Carbon Fiber used in "car parts" turns me off.

Well Porsche charges $2,100 for their carbon fiber interior trim package in the 911. So compared to that, this is a bargain. 😬

Do any of you have an opinion either way considering it’s a $1,495 option?

Thanks
$1500 - no $200 - yes

I would not recommend wrapping it with fake cf. It’s way to expensive of a car to do that kind of thing. Real car guys will know it’s fake right away. I’m hoping the aftermarket will have the same prices available for much cheaper. Seems like Chevy is probably making a killing of these options.

Are they plastic though? I thought the pieces with the exception of the surround around the LCD IP are aluminum/metal?

I’d like to see a better pic of what the standard trim piece around the LCD IP looks like.

Well I’m going in a totally different direction from pretty much everyone (which is what I love about all of our vettes). I think the Z51 spoiler and all those carbon fiber exterior pieces diminish the sleek futuristic and simple lines of the exterior. Plus you look like a 25 year old guy with a YouTube channel whose gotta have your car all moded out and flashy to get subscribers. Whereas, putting as much into the interior is about what I like and what I’m going to be looking at 95% of the time I’m with my Corvette. So I’m getting the 3LT natural dipped interior with the carbon fiber. And I’m gonna love it!!!! Again, that’s the real joy of buying a car with so many personal options, you get just what you want to pay for. I’d say the answer to your question really comes down to, if you care what other people think - then go by these posts. But if you care what you think most, look at the pictures, watch videos, and go with your own feelings. It’s your money!! Either way, you’re gonna have one awesome ride.

If it replaced actual components of the car to shed 100lbs, sure, but it's just for appearance, so no, not worth it.

Definitely a subjective personal choice.

Something I really like about the C8 interior is that if something looks like CF, it is actual CF, and if something looks like metal, it actually is metal.

Not a lot of cars do that.

I actually saw the carbon fiber they use in the C8 in a Cadillac and it looked very nice.

In my opinion it looks better than the aluminum and now that I’ve seen it in person, it’s worth the $1,495 to me.

Ditto for the C7. When people get in my C7, they usually ask...

”Is that CF dash real CF?” - yup!
”Is that real leather on the door panels and the top of the dash?” - yup!
”Are these metal-looking bits really metal?” - yup!
”Is the suede on the headliner and A-pillars real suede?” - next question.

What “fake” CF are you talking about? What CF parts are you implying are fake?
