I'm still relatively young compared to the primary Corvette owner demographic, however I've always liked the dark red or Cherry red paint color on Corvettes and other sports cars. I came close to ordering my C7Z in Long Beach Red, however I live in Florida and I really think dark red is the "official" Corvette color of Florida as I see them everywhere, mostly the C5, C6 and C7 generations. So perhaps there is something to the OP's analogy.

I still like the color, I just didn't want to own another dark red Corvette as they seem to dominate the shows and runs I participate in. I went with the classic Arctic White/Adrenaline Red combo with the rare Shark Gray vent options which I matched up with a custom paint stripe and Forgeline wheels. Interestingly, I really don't see too many Arctic White Z06s on the roads by me, so although it's a popular overall color, it's working for me locally.

I'm going to wait until the C8Z comes out before I potentially scratch the upgrade itch, and even with the new C8 body lines, I still really like the Arctic White and Adrenaline Red interior combo so I might stay with the theme.

So the consensus is, LBR (Long Beach Red) should be renamed Old Fart Red

Add me to the tally. Already have a Ruby Red Mustang GT. BTW, I'm 77. Pretty classy and get lots of looks and thumbs up from young people.

Default C7 LBR but C8 Torch Red

Absolutely love my LBR C7 (first non blue or silver vehicle I've ever had) and so does everyone who sees it. But I think the C8 is a Torch Red Car.

I turn 73 later this year, so "guilty as charged", I guess.......

Just curious...... if you have ordered--or intend to--a LBR C8......how old are you?

I'm 44 and I think it's a great color. Looks really good on the C8.

Who really cares what others think about that color. If it is what you like, that is absolutely all that matters. I buy my cars for what I like.

When I order a 2021 it will be LBR and I will be 70 in June so I guess maybe it is an OF color. But at least I have lost interest in chrome wheels, so their is some hope.

Nah, I've wanted a torch red corvette since I was 18 years old. I'm 50 now and have a C8 on order, but with black wheels.

Chrome is really where I see the divide between generations. I really dislike chrome, much to my older father-in-laws chagrin.

Not a fan of TR, but black wheels might just make it all good.

At least you won’t see your car on every corner with all the Red and White ordered C8’s.

I almost ended up with Crystal Red on my C6 ZR1, but the wife fell in love with the blue. I am eyeing LBR for my C8 convertible (2021 or 2022 at the earliest), so I guess I'm an OF at 51.
