Bowling Green Plant NOT likely to reopen March 30th
Sorry guys, but Ford has already put out a statement that they will not be reopening plants on March 30th.
GM should follow.

Guys, frankly, they could be pumping Corvettes out in record numbers, and they would be piling up on the lots....
Just for myself, but I'm probably a typical Corvette buyer, and NO WAY I would commit to a $70K+ purchase in this economic environment.... its not that I couldn't afford it, just that it would be a bad financial decision..... and I suspect most Corvette buyers ARE Corvette buyers because they didn't make a lot of bad financial decisions in their life.
Actually, shutting down production could be a blessing, as there is probably no demand.

No surprise there.

Thought that Bowling Green stated closed until April 6, then they would review at that time.

I think the ford plants still had local shelter in place orders, does Kentucky have that?

No surprise. This is not going away soon. I predict June 1st will be the closest reopen date

Source is the covid19 dashboard. We haven’t reached peak infection rate yet. We just hit 10k reported infections on the 22nd and still increasing per day. Once infection rate starts to decline, businesses can start to think about re opening.

Ford stock last week at under four dollars was a complete no brainer buy.

well considering that the Governor of Kentucky put the state in a "Shelter at Home" status.....and until they lift that, I don't believe the plant workers will coming back and starting production. we may be in for a long haul.

I think March 30th was a place holder. Nobody really knows when things will reopen. My guess is after the deaths have peaked which could be months not weeks.
We will see. India just told 2.5B people they are on lockdown for 21 days if that gives you any ideas as to how long this could take..

While I am sure there are still C8 buyers out there with cash in hand ready to buy, you are foolish to think that this fits the profile of most Corvette buyers. There are many who will be prudent and see what happens. Remember GM is not the customer, the dealers are. And I doubt most dealers want a fleet for C8's sitting on their lot right now waiting to sell them.

you will find that close to 80% of the people infected have recovered .
