Yep, it is easy to do both. Drive car/be happy AND ask for improvement. And for the record, it is NOT what you wrote: "rear view camera mirror.",,,,it is what the OP so eloquently put it...a switch to leave on rear camera in the display. Anyway it is nice you don't miss it. This is my 5th Corvette and it has more severe blind spots than any other IMHO. The parabolic view of the rear camera is fantastic and could be a real boon to those that choose to turn it on. On my other three vehicles, it is switchable and I leave it on while my wife leaves it off. I am in conversation with GM and they have some limited willingness to talk...so we will see.

Wow. This is a real beauty. Mine is torch red. For some reason, I love this car in any color. For us 1lt users I am hoping I can convince GM to offer a simple mod that makes the rear camera show up all the time on the display screen. On/off switch. Easy and adds to safety based on the blind spots of this car.

You silver vette really looks great!
