Can a Z51 with front lift be tracked?
I was recently told that a Z51 with the FRONT LIFT option could not be tracked. Seems odd to me, so thought I’d ask here to get the facts.

Who on earth told you that? That's nonsense.

BTW many high perfdormcne cars offer lift option, Ferrari, Porsche etc. Think Porsche was the cheapest at ~$3500 for the 911!

You lose the ability to fully corner balance the car with the front lift but that is all. I have not seen any documentation from GM that says you can't track a Z51 with a front lift.

If you were a good enough driver to approach the limits of what the car provides or limits you with these options, you would not need to ask this question.
In other words. Way too much car for you to worry about.

Talking about Front Lift, after the car is raised does it stay raised? Does driver have to lower it manually or does it go down to normal height after a set time?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Thanks all. I thought the fellow was misinformed.. I’m too old and don’t have the skills to push a car to those limits, so would never track a car, but was just curious. This forum is a great place to get informed and knew I would get the straight scoop.

I think the speed is 24 mph. You can't lower over that speed & when you go over 24 it automatically lowers.

Sounds more like you just believe whatever people will tell you.

If you have OnStar, your car can be tracked!

@Doowopbob I would recommend that you find out where/when track days are held near where you live, and just go. And by that, I mean just go watch and see. You will AMAZED at what shows up, and I mean that in both a positive and negative sense.
What you will learn is that if it runs and meets basic safety requirements, then you can "track it". All this bs about what you have to have to "track" is just that. What you need is the commitment to do it and a car that is sound and safe. Nothing more.
