Hey I only made one thread about the msrp listings. OP, tell me you didn’t see this discussion coming when you started this thread. I think these are helpful if not just entertaining posts. A poll would be sufficient if you wanted numbers. While the people financing and the folks paying in cash are bickering, there’s a gremlin in the corner aka the people leasing. I’ll probably finance when the time comes.

I don't think that gremlin exists for the C8.

I may be overly conservative with money, but I would never have spent this type of money if I didn't have it. Nor if I still had a house payment. Cash all the way.

And that’s why you see 75 year olds with their first Corvette.

Exactly. And it is the smart way. Haha... Lots of time to drive with the roads clear between 4am and 4pm.

In order for me to not let my credit score fall I have to have small loans on my cars.
It just drives me crazy that credit is king. Paying everything with cash is a credit problem.
We are at the mercy if the credit raters.

credit score is the only reason i considered financing. considered. carmax is wanting my van, so aftger i get my car at BG next week, i think i'll let them have it, and then finance a new truck--that i do not need at all.

I paid off my late model pick-up & my wife's new SUV before I bought (and financed) my C8. It's all about what you can afford and making informed choices..

Why not just sell the van, and put that money toward the Vette?
Your credit score is based on length of credit, debt to credit ratio and history of paying on time.

Getting a truck you don’t need would actually lower your credit score until you had it for awhile.

I had no credit history when credit cards became the rage and couldn't get one so I bought a boat and financed a small part of it just to create a history. I could exist easily without credit, money in the bank, proven income, owned my own home and vehicles but couldn't get a credit card.
Funny thing is you can be poor and have perfect credit and you be a billionaire and have a low credit score.
