C8 Model Arrived: I'm Underwhelmed

I really like mine. It’s a unique move that you don’t see with just any car and a lot classier and more tasteful than GM sticking a Maisto model in the mail to you. If you don’t appreciate the gift, appreciate the gesture.

Still a nice gesture from GM.

Yeah, that being the case I'd recommend selling your car.

Damn the whiners on forums drive me nuts. They didn't have to do anything. Ask a Mustang owner what they got. If you don't like it, I am sure you have a garbage can. I used to tell my kids, don't break bad on any gift. It was something you got for free and didn't have before. With my C7 I got a poster and still was happy. Geez.....
My C7 poster that came as a gift for my 2019 Stingray is in a frame hanging in my garage that I just finished renovating.

He stated both artists paintings to be worth "millions." He made NO differentiation/s. Why else bring their names up? Either that, or he was intentionally writing in confusion.
Read it again....
Read it again....

That's exactly what the model looks like. So, what GM provided is a model of the very first physical object that was a full scale C8. That does make the model more meaningful. I never said that I hated it and considering its origin I'm now appreciating its artful and historic significance.
And if you go back to my original post, you'll see that's what I was asking in the first place where I said,
"Can someone explain to me what I'm missing with this design?"

I guess in the case of the model, the color of the car does make a difference.

It was an original painting, since Miro did not sign many have to be careful. BUT $50??
It was an Art School and yep student made a real copy! Funny when at the Louvre in Paris see some folks copying the Mona Lisa! All legal IF as I recall it's not the same size. My own work is real! Wife makes me keep in my Man Cave. Funny, made a welded sculpture by cutting Stainless Steel pieces from thin plate with Oxyacetylene. That leaves oxidized Dingle Berrys on the edge than you "flame paint" from the back side which gives various temper colors on the front. All arranged randomly MIG spot welded together with stainless wire. Had it hanging in my office in OH. Wife also made me put it in the garage. We had a welding art contest at the local Tech college, where I have been on that welding advisory board since 1986. Donated my welded "art" for the auction (actually, in additions to welding students from like 5 colleges that participated three companies in the area sent welder teams: Honda, GE and Nucor. Like the students they had 6 hours to make whatever the theme was for that year from scrape in a pile that was supplied. Some did sell for significant $s.) They were very good. Mine sold for $50!

Well, you did say that you were "Underwhelmed" in the title and in the body of your original post. That post basically made it sound like you didn't like it...at all. So you can't fault people too much for coming to the conclusions they have. You could have avoided all of that with a different tack. You know, like asking what the deal was before knocking it....
Sounds like he's crawfishing it back.

I got mine today after waiting 4 months. My car is AW, so it looks the same as the OP. I put mine next to the AW C8 model my kids bought me for my birthday.
I also learned something new as I did not know the origin of the design.
