i’m planning on doing a 1200 mile trip both ways from South Florida up to Philadelphia in about a month, I’m not concerned whatsoever about the gas along the way, every station on I 95 gets great use, and there are many top-tier stations. I run Chevron down here, but I wouldn’t begin to think of taking any additive with me, these engines are not highly stressed or forced induction, I think there’s plenty of good 91-93 top tier everywhere you look, if you’re on one of the main routes.

Brand likely makes no difference. I can tell you how it is in MN where i live. Crude oil comes into the state either by train/tank car from ND or pipeline from Canada. It all goes to refineries in sSt Paul. Refined products go out from St Paul to the gas stations...regardless of brand. It all comes from the same place. There may be slightly different additive packages, but essentially it's all the same.
We have 4 distribution centers supplying all gas stations in the DFW area. They get there gas from the same processing plants down on the coast.

Drive and enjoy your trip and don’t worry about where to get gas.

This is the way it works everywhere. Just use a Top Tier rated gas with the correct octane. That or carry a bottle of additive with you.

Every, all, yada, yada, yada, gasoline is the same! All of the raw gasoline is put in the master distribution lines and mixed. They only become "different at the local distribution/ truck loading locations. That is where the additives are added. As some have mentioned, you may just put in the additive of your choosing at the pump. The only real item to ensure is the Octane. 93 is the only way to go on a regular (lol) basis.

I use Shell, Mobil, and long trips Exxon but all the Top Tier Gas are fine. But the big thing you'll notice going East from Wyoming or North from Florida is the price goes up a lot! It's amazing that in states with the most pot holes the price of gas goes up!

Doesn't seem worth worrying about. This post sounds like a post about where you can plug in your EV on a long road trip. Premium is premium. If the C8 is that picky where you seriously have to worry about the gas, maybe you should rent a Toyota. It would be more reliable anyway.

What I've done is plotted both my overnight stays and the points half way between, then am using Google Maps to identify the gas stations at both those points. Of course I plan to use the highest octane I can buy, but I'm unfamiliar with some of the brands in some of the towns. Thus the question about BP vs. Marathon vs Sunoco. .. These are stations I rarely if ever see (never ever have I seen Marathon gas for sale).
I would get Costco gas if it were available in those towns along the way. I'll check to see if there are any. Thanx for the idea.
The comment to take a few bottles of techron along is a great idea too. THANX.

Premium is premium -
I go to stations that look busy only because I don't want no old nasty gas in my cars. Never an issue
I do run a bottle of Seafoam or similar in the gas 1/yr as a maintenance item. It might not do any good, but it won't hurt.

Not many 93 choices in Canada any more, so I just put in whatever the Premium 91 fuel at the station happens to be.
At my age, life's too short to worry about minutia, and it causes migraines, so I'm told.
Drive fast, my friends.....

Owners Manual says to NEVER add any additional additives to the fuel or oil.

Agreed. A few years ago Consumer Reports rated Costco #2, only Chevron beating it. My Costco pump manager told me they get 6-7 tanker loads a day, keeping it very fresh as well.

Having traveled all over the contiguous 48 states buy name brand gas and don’t worry about it. The only times I have not purchased is when they had only 87 octane and diesel in Kanab, Utah and a station on Rt 5 in CA was over six dollars a gallon for premium in 2019. Four miles later I found name brand premium for under five dollars a gallon. I fill up at 1/4 tank minimum when road tripping. Figure I have about a 100 mile search area.
