New Purple? Not So Fast GM

Radar Blue AKA Pace Car Purple turns blue in the sun. The new purple has pink hues in the sun. They are going to look very different side by side.
I have a 98 Pace car, it's a fun car although not for everyone. When they built it GM instructed the designers to make the car as eye popping as possible and they scientifically took the colors GM had and combined them to make the scheme. And I can tell you it worked (and still works). people can't help to look at the car. Driving a 98 pace car is not good if you don't like getting stared at all the time.

Now this is the purple GM should have gone with.

I suppose it’s my fault for asking but I don’t consider red mist in the same league as “red”. Never been a fan of the majority of red cars but it popped more than riptide blue which was next on the list. This purple probably would have made the list too.

need to see it on a large area cant get the full effect from a speed shape.. i have my paint supplier keeping an eye out. as soon as the formula is released i will do some spray outs to see how it actually looks or if gm released pics of an entire car... i love purple will add another to the stable if it is the right color.

p.s.
I agree on the 1998 pace car wheels. They're about the only C5's that still use those fugly stock rims. Ugly design made worse by ugly paint and an oversaturated with color interior.

It isnt pace car purple. Far more blue hues in it, which is a GOOD thing. I've been wanting a dark sapphire blue. This is likely as close as I'll get.
So its SOGOTP time for me. If I dont order a hysteria purple 2025 C8, I will have to concede that I've decided on an eventual LC500 instead.

Rapid is far, far closer to smurfs' hue than hysteria is to Barney. I have a feeling anyone comparing hysteria to barney either has bad color perception or simply wouldve compared any shade of purple darker than pastel to the kids show host.

GM is copying Blue Crush from Toyota. Not purple.

I dont think so. And we have no way to know until hysteria C8s are seen in the flesh and comparisons can be made. I'm not saying it isnt close, but hysteria looks like it has more purple and is darker than that truck. I say "looks like" of course because again we wont know till it is seen in the flesh. The configurator will undoubtedly NOT display the color accurately.

[QUOTE=Rapid Z;1607761868]Looks mighty close to me. 2025 looks like a strange Deja vu color year. GM seems to have lost its creativity when it comes to colors for 2025.[/QUOT
Actually owned a 1998 pace car and got so many compliments on the color that my head would spin. It was a gorgeous color in person. Give it a shot by seeing it up close and personal before commenting. Meanwhile, Ford and Chrysler have had great success at selling cars using the old color pallet. Maybe GM is using a tried and true idea. I’ll be looking at this color closely and the accompanying interior choices.

I will be eager to see the first Hysteria C8 anything--parked next to a 1998 pace car. I would like to see the colors directly contrasting each other.

Keep in mind that the new Comp Yellow exterior is metallic -- the C4 (1990s) Comp Yellow was not metallic.
And the the new Comp yellow sure looks like the shade of the C5 Millennium Yellow. To my eyes, anyway. Mill Yellow was not metallic.
Lookin at my C5 Corvette facts book by Casey, the 2003-2004 Chevy SSR pickup used the exact same 1998 Corvette Pace Car Purple. SSR called it Ultra Violet Metallic. But no yellow wheels on the SSR :-)
