She Said VS PDR
PDR is the winner. I have my PDR setup to record all the time and write over the oldest files when full. It's 512GB...
While pulling into a parking space a woman opened her door without looking and hit the passenger mirror so hard it folded in. She was so apologetic and going to take care of it until she got the estimate from my preferred body shop. Then she said she was going to file a claim on me as she was not at fault because she was parked.
Filed my claim Monday with State Farm. Noted in the claim that I had video proof of what exactly happened. They called me and told me where to email the video to and I did that yesterday. Today they called and said they reviewed the video and are filing a claim on the other person and they will take care of the damages at my preferred shop. They are Corvette people

Good deal that you had video proof who was at fault and your insurance company collected on the other driver's policy.

Dash cam in my wife's car saved a guy in front of us that got hit by someone that tried to pin it on him. After we got hit years ago and the other guy fabricated the most ridiculous story when it was 100% his fault it was time for a dash cam. People suck.
Having said all that based on your thread title I was really hoping for a story where your wife was in the car and the PDR proved her wrong!

I have had people make false claims. There is almost no downside to making a false claim or dispute. Too bad they don't have to pay a penalty for lying.

So the PDR just record the front view of the car, how were you able to record when her door hit your side mirror? I haven’t setup my PDR yet on mine so I don’t have experience with it.

Curious as to the final outcome. Filing a claim is not a guarantee. I suspect this goes 50/50.
My driveway is on an incline so when you back out of my garage you cannot see behind you in my wife’s 2008 C350 (no cameras) until the rear wheels are half a car legnth out of the garage. She went to back out and somebody had just parked in MY Driveway to drop their kid off at the school across the street. You can see them make an illegal left turn into my driveway right as my garage door is opening. (Wife used the garage door opener while in the car). She put the car in reverse backs out about two feet and comes to a stop when she hits the car. Still can’t see the car from her mirrors or looking out the back window. Provided the camera footage from the security system. Insurance placed my wife 100% at fault and was not even willing to argue with the other insurance company. That person made an illegal left into my driveway, trespassed and was not held responsible.
Wife now openers the garage door before getting into her car. Totally insane people thing it’s ok to park in my driveway.

So what damage was there to the mirror? The mirror isn't that expensive so I'm wondering why she balked at paying?
