If the MR is an exclusive model, $130K. If it's the standard and all C8's are MR, $85K. If i'm right on either, that just sucks.

I am really surprised by the wide range of prices being thrown around as we speculate on the C8 pricing. I figure a simple poll will enable us to get a better consensus.

If GM labels this mid engine car as a new generation Corvette there is no reason to expect it to be more than $65k starting. If GM brings it out as a top tier above ZR1 offering with a C7 refresh then it could be more, but I don't see it being priced too much higher than the ZR1 in that case.

Early polling tends to agree with you. So far, most think the C8 is will have a starting price in the $60k-$70k range. I am sure the Corvette team will have dozens of options and various trim packages available that will enable that price to rise quickly.

Is this poll MSRP? If so, $57,749.99 for a base. 5% increase from previous model.

I'm heartened to see that approximately 75% of forum members are rational and close on pricing. It's a small minority clinging to the bizarre notion that GM will only offer a 6-figure ME model.

Yes, MSRP. Your guess at the starting price of a Chevrolet Corvette C8 Base 1LT (or equivalent) with no options. Not the price you want it to be. If we use historical option pricing you can start to figure out what the other trims may cost. For example, 1LT to 2LT is around $4500 extra, 2LT to 3LT is around $5200 extra assuming the C8 follows the same trend. Wheel upgrade options typically range from $500 - $1995. Special colors, stripe packages, etc. If we zero in on the base price it makes it easier to estimate the cost of a C8 with additional options.

I assume you are joking? By the way, I made the poll public so you can click on the results and see who voted for what.

Are we sure the camo'ed ME car at the Ring is the replacement for the C7 and not a new model to be built in parallel with a FE model C8? If so, the 65-75 range sounds about right, although I'm not sure how they will do that without cutting corners on fit/finish/material quality.

If the camo'ed ME at the Ring is not a replacement for the C7 and instead is a new model to be built in BG along with a FE car, then all bets are off and it could easily start much higher. The $130k mark someone else mentioned doesn't sound too crazy.

But we just haven't seen enough of the real car (brakes, tires, wheels, interior, unmasked exterior) to have those answers.

Based on the trend in the poll so far if a base C8 costs more than $70k then it will have to add a lot of value over the base C7 beside just a mid engine configuration.

IMO, in order to justify a starting price of $70k or higher then a base model should at least include:

- 500-525 NA horsepower
- 500lb ft of torque
- Weigh 3100-3200lbs
- ZF DCT that doesn't shudder, hopefully a manual trans as well
- Mag ride tech standard
- E-Diff tech equivalent standard
- 6 piston brake calipers and larger GS/Z06 size rotors
- Performance Exhaust with programmable modes
- Hi-res infotainment screen, maybe 10 inch display
- Safety Tech standard (RCTA, Blind Spot Monitoring, Front and rear cameras, etc.) not a deal breaker for me but it should have it at that price.

That is some good crack you are smoking - a GS 2LT A8 (what is required to get F&R cameras and close to a DCT) is over $72K MSRP. Yet, for $70k in addition to that, you want to reduce the weight by at least 300 lbs, and at least 40 hp and add RCTA and BLS.
My bet is an MSRP with freight of $69,995, but it will be the equivalent of today's plain jane Stingray Z51 1LT A8 with MSRC.

Yes, I want all of that. Many of the optional features may become standard with the next gen of the vehicle. The safety crap will be a dime a dozen as they put that in just about all cars now, rear camera is already included front camera big, deal they are cheap cameras anyway. The weight savings could be had by leveraging the mid-engine design, no steel torque tube, new engine design and layout and use of lighter parts throughout the car should shave at least 100lbs, hopefully a lot more. The added horsepower is just a side benefit of building a new power train for the car anyway. I think they need to hit that 500hp mark in order to grab a bit more attention and help drive sales.

So, let's say none of what I want is offered. Why would I trade my C7 GS Vert with M7 for a C8 then? There would not be enough value for existing owners to upgrade, other than just upgrading for the sake of upgrading?
