The most interesting part to me is not the drag numbers but how the C8Z51 measures up to the C7 family at the road course. Nothing about this yet, except Tadge I believe said the Z51 is faster at any track than a C7Z. We'll see, but the new car must have unbelievable balance and traction for Tadge to make that claim. It would be nice if Chevy published its own road course numbers for several tracks with both cars, but I can understand why they do not.

I wonder if that's in stock spec brakes and tires.
It's hard to imagine a c8z51 with stock mpss tires and street pads beating a c7z z07.
Certainly would depend on the track how much that extra 150hp can get used.
Thank god someone finally pointed this out... I saw immediately that it was not base/Z51 and was just the difference between 0-60 and 0-100km/h. I couldn't believe all the comments not noticing that haha.
I'm betting that's the numbers for the base model which is even better news since a few of the other figures are for the Base only and the Z51 trans ratio's are missing. I'm thinking base is 3.0 and Z51 will be rated at 2.8 for 0-60 times.
Oh wow you are right the 3.0/2.9 is 0-60 MPH\ 0 to 100KPH on the BASE C8 since the show top speed at 193 mph!
Even the braking is shown for the BASE not the Z51.
The Z51 will be faster than the base, except for top speed.
We don't know what the real 0 to 60 MPH of the Z51 is yet but we do know the top speed is 184 MPH!

It must be superior balance in any corner. Hard to imagine any other way. This will be interesting to see what the magazines say. The C8 must have incredible balance, be very easy to drive fast, and keep its momentum much better than even the Z with the Z07 package.
I wonder if Chevrolet ever added a track-oriented four wheel drive system to the FE chassis for testing, and if so, what those numbers were? I guess we'll never know.
Some guys on here are going to eating major crow once the full numbers are posted.
Pretty clear these are launch control induced numbers and not just hit the pedal and watch it go numbers. Regardless, I'll believe them when Road & Track and Motorweek can reproduce them. The first GT500s from 2007 had a claimed 0-60 of 4.0 sec but no one could reproduce it and most were getting near 5.0 sec.

LOL! If anyone reproduces those claimed numbers it will not be Motorweek or Road and Track.

That's not really what was said. It went down like this:
C/D: The C8 accelerates more quickly than the current car, right?
TJ: Yes, it does. It accelerates quicker and it goes around a track quicker.
C/D: Which track?
TJ: Any track.

Maybe he meant the C7 Z51 as the current car. Must be in low 7: 10's at Nurburgring for him to say that
