My impression is that that was early, incorrect information. The latest is that the lights included in the appearance package are the 2 LEDs on the hatch, there are no lights under the carbon fiber pieces. If you don’t order the appearance package you don’t get any lights on the hatch, just a light in the trunk which is standard for all models/trims/packages. That is my understanding.

I just can't see this being worth $1k unless you do a lot of night car shows. The LEDs aren't that bright from the one I saw so they will be useless during the day.

many upgrades/add ons won’t be used for their designed purpose... The majority of Z51 packages won’t be utilized on a track, for example. So are they not worth it? Of course, but countless people will be paying up for it anyways.

It’s “worth it” to the people that can afford it without it putting a damper in their finances.

If it does not bust the budget and you already plan to also get higher priority options then yes, get it.

I get the whole thing about not caring what the engine looks like, but if you look at it from the amount of CF, this seems a better value than the interior pieces and price.

There is one part per side, as shown in the attached image, along with some thermal insulation on the bottom side. The "rails" and the perpendicular pieces are actually all one part.

Thanks for clearing that up, but my point still stands. That's much more CF than the interior pieces.
