It's TRUE but unless a hardcore straight line speed freak who wants to drive around on Hoosiers or MTs it's nicer in the 5.7 hemi version as a daily lol.
6.4 > 5.7 for daily driving.
5.7 is an absolute slug in comparison to the other pony cars base model V8's. FIL just got rid of his 2016. Nice boulevard cruiser but I could whip up pancake batter while driving it with my foot to the floor. Uneventful.
He said he only had 308 miles on the Vette (3:17 in the video)...not full power yet
I don't think this "not full power" thing is real under 500 miles. As was seen in the Stradman video and others you can go to redline below 500 miles if you choose to. Just not recommended.

I may have misunderstood something in this regard. I don't believe the issue is being able to go to redline. The issue is whether the computer pulls power.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Gotta save people from themselves

I believe this is true computer won't allow full TQ in first however I think he said after that everything was full power.
Put them on a road course instead of this hillbilly straight line racing.
"Hillbilly" stuff. Gotta love the humor in this type of condescending arrogance. Sorry my friend but the overwhelming majority of cars guys do not engage in road course racing and could actually care less about it. Straight line metrics are how performance cars are measured. 0-60,1/4 mile, trap MPH. The Hellcat is a really fun straight line car that appeals to more than just "Hillbillys".

Sidebar note: True hillbillies don't straight line race, as all roads in the mountains and hills (and hollers) where hillbillies come from lack straight lines.
FWIW, true hillbillies are far, far better winding road drivers than city folk.

As a current Redeye owner, I have to agree with this statement.
Yes..........Hellcats are a one trick pony.......yes...........the base and optional tires totally suck. I refused to take my car to the track until I got some drag radials on..............yes...........with around $4,000 I have a high 9 second car, with all the creature comforts that come with the car. My mods are in my signature and yes.........the car is a land yacht weight wise. My 9.92 @ 137 was under full weight and not run at the best of DA and track prep. My tune is a very conservative one. Yes, the plum crazy color is a real head turner. For a big guy like myself the car is very comfortable.
The C8 and Hellcat are very different cars and can't really be compared with each other.
and yes, I'm not brand loyal and may have a 2021 C8 Z06 in my garage in the near future, which will be my 4th Vette.

I'm 6'3" 230lbs and find the Hellcat to be a great ride. 9 second car with this kind of comfort is just awesome. Love it. Enjoy the Hellcat and I hope you get that C8, best of both worlds in one garage.

And let's not forget that NASCAR was more or less invented by Hillbilly's, so there's that.

and second gear by 25% but 3rd all the way up its fully tilt.
50 60 roll are exactly what you would expect.
I am curious to see an A8 C7 at same speed vs the C8. I bet its door to door. The short gearing help lower speed but you lose that advantage in the higher mph.
5th at 110mph or so is a little tough. Such a ling gear too. Not enough power to push that car through from there.

plus there were the Beverly Hillbillies. Maybe they had a Hellcat or the like in the garage somewhere.

Nice times. Was that run on 93 octane?
Hellcats have great engines that are super easy to modify. Now imagine if they would put that engine in a lighter chassis..
