Agreed, but have you seen the hideous mods being deployed on the C8's already? this community in large part has all their taste in their mouths. Red or Yellow belts with tan interiors, yellow belts with red or blue interiors, all high wing spec cars, blue leather w orange car WTF!, goomba wheels abound, full stripes -- Don Johnson and the 80's Miami Vice crew would be so proud! Sadly, the MR configuration isn't classing the joint up, just a new canvas for much tacky tastelessness, same ol' owners, just a new engine location..

Exactly this. I've seen some downright hideous color combinations on the C8s already. I hold my tongue because I don't want put someone down for something they like, but you'd think some of these owners are colorblind. I'd much rather see lambo doors on a C8 when the owner gets out than the god awful color combinations I've seen. Including rims and wraps, this is far from the least tasteful idea for the C8 thus far.

 

Quite a bit of anger and hate for Corvette enthusiasts along with the focus of their interest. You sound like a bit of a loser with an attitude. Hope you aquire a set of those "Lambo doors" someday. The attention you may get will hopefully mitigate some of your insecurity, until then hate on.

Sadly the C8 has not fully emancipated the Corvette from tackiness (fuzzy dice) and ghettoness (fake Lambo doors). Thank God this group is shrinking with each generation though!

Agree, some of the color combinations I am starting to see are making me cringe! I saw a pic of an Orange car with Yellow calipers along with some of the combinations you mentioned just make it cringeworthy!! Some people should just leave design ideas to others! Hope they plan on keeping their cars forever cause good luck trying to sell some of these hideous "creative" combo's!!

Do Ferrari or Porsche owners do things like this to their cars? Uh....no. And a friend of mine with a 488 and I were talking and I told him how much I love Corvettes. He admitted he did too but could never own one, and crap like this is why. He specifically talked about the massive amount of tacky lowbrow Corvette branded crap you can buy, chrome wheels, and.....fake "lambo doors" on Corvettes. He didn't want to be "part of that crowd". Then I see this thread. ----- Yeah, there are some guys in the Viper crowd that won't be winning any classy taste awards either.

OP, my friend, my opinion and my Ferrari friends opinion mean less than your opinion because IT IS YOUR CAR. There are some who roll their eyes when I pull up in my obnoxious blue and white GTS clown shoe car. But I still love it after 24 years and I could give a crap about anyone else's opinion. Enjoy your car however you decide to mod it (if any!). Be safe.

And this is why "this crowd" can sometimes see exotic owners as pretentious. People do the same to their Porsches and Ferraris as anyone else from any other brand. Because they got a bigger trust fund or luckier in life doesn't make them different. There are plenty of unmolested Corvette's out there, but it's obvious for a cheaper more accessible car that people would have more fun with their toy. They don't worry about C&Ds from Ferrari or the opinion of their service tech at Porsche.

I agree. The opinions of others' is meaningless. At the beginning and end of the day it's OP who will be entering and leaving the garage.

 

I'd rather spend the money on improvements that make it faster and handle better. So that it blows the vertical doors off the lambo .

For those who have been patiently waiting hoping that I didn’t go through with it... I did. I pick it up from the shop next week but here is a preliminary picture they sent me.
(They also have a picture of it with their zlr door kit as well)

Actually I think its kinda cool and looks very functional. I'm worried about the C8 doors being really wide so you can't open them in a parking lot or garage if someone parks close. And with that "wall of buttons" you can't get into the driver's seat from the passenger side.

If it solves that problem, I would consider this. And I really don't give a shoot about what anyone thinks. Its my car. I'll do what I want.

I do like that you can put the doors back to the OEM closing method for resale.

Not sure about the cost though.... that would be a factor.

IMO, Chevy should offer this as an option and make money from it.

 

Agreed I wouldn’t want to pay full price. I heard it’s 2900 install included if you preorder and then more than that if you don’t preorder. I just got lucky and was the first guy to ask so got the discount for them to build their kit👌🏼

 

I’d wonder about stress cracking after long-term use.
