His friend also works at the dealership, so I'm sure that helps with getting to the front of the line.

2nd C8 that is the current giveaway-was ordered by another person, but they backed out. He bought it and they made it their next giveaway.
3rd C8 that he just ordered-I actually think he would have gotten another 2020 instead of a 21 if circumstances had been different. I remember him in an older video actually saying he had deposits on 2. The deposit for the 2nd one, was obviously changed to a 21 due to the strike and COVID.

Don't like his videos, don't watch. Nobody forces you to watch his videos, click on this thread, or read what I just posted.
I agree and I can't stand the guy. I've tried watching several times before and I end up turning that **** off.

As you said, I like to be entertained and this guy does nothing but buy **** and point at it.

I shake my head every time someone posts some Youtube video. I have never clicked and watched a single one. People make big bucks from people subscribing, giving thumbs up, or just clicking on their videos. That's why they have new ones every week or two. Mo' Money.

I was thinking about starting a youtube video thingie..

The plan is to start out with a gofund me page and have the CF b@llers donate to buy me a C8. A Simple $10K from Skid row Joe, Foosh, Punky, Jerry U etc.
Then I will make many Videos of me dismantling it completely apart to the last bolt, then building it back with only high school auto behind me. Will the skills of working on a 78' LeCar be enough to build back the first mid-engine corvette? If and when I fail I will attempt to send back to the dealership to fix under the Magunson act since everything will be stock........... just maybe a little misplaced

Once I make it big THEN maybe Garrett will spot light me on Corvette Today. .. I can see it now.... sort of...

Call me crazy, but I enjoy watching his videos. To hear a C8 rippin' through the gears is enjoyable as I watch the calendar wondering when mine will arrive.

Someone did say he's making around 50k a month off youtube alone so god bless him.

And also you wanna know why he's getting all these C8's easily? Easy answer. Because he makes youtube videos.

Who do you think GM will favor? A dude with over a million subs that makes entertaining videos that people WILL watch?

Or an unknown dude on CF that no one will hear about?

GM wants their C8 out there, in the hands of all the notable people. SS717 is one of them.
except they actually snubbed youtubers when it came to early testing... Go watch Doug Demuro's video where he cries about it for 20 minutes. (no I'm not going to link to his video)

Didn't mike say himself he knows someone who works at GM? I mean i know everyone says that. You call someone at a dealer and you laugh and crack jokes, now all of a sudden people refer to them as best friends and **** lol. Yeah i know a guy at GM. No you called a salesperson and made some jokes and that was it.

So who knows if mike really does know someone at GM. This is similar when he got his ZR1. He was talking about the ZR1, even BEFORE they announced the official debut back in 2017. If you watch his 2016 videos, he was already talking about how he knew someone who was going to hook him up with the ZR1. At that point, i didn't even know the ZR1 was going to be a 2019 model. I thought it'd be a 2020 model. But somehow mike has all the inside info.

He has a youtube channel that was blowing up quick. Similar to tallguyreviews. And that's how they're able to get these cars a lot faster than most.

You could say he "paid for a custom vin", or waited like the rest of us. But when i read threads of people waiting 1 year for a C8 lol, then no, streetspeed has someone in the inside helping him get his cars faster so he can make videos on them.

It only makes sense like that.

He literally has a Youtube video titled "HOW MUCH DID MY C8 CORVETTE COST?!? Ft. The SECRET To Getting an Early Build!" where he shows you the windows sticker with the Customer Selectible VIN option on it, and he explains that this is how he got an early vehicle, he didn't care what the VIN number was, he only said get me the lowest number available. This comes directly from his mouth!

I don't know why people refuse to believe this and would rather believe some lie that he got it sooner because he's on YouTube...

You misunderstood me. I actually do like his videos. LOL

Sure, some of the stuff is stupid. Some of the videos are stupid. So what. It's the internet. That's the beauty of it--anybody with a camera can make Youtube videos. This thread probably gained him a few views too.

You're right. Anyone CAN make youtube videos. Doesn't mean they're going to be successful at it.

Remember z06juan? He's a member here. He tried doing videos for about a year featuring his 2016 z06. Even procharged it for 900 or 1000hp which should get lots of views right? I mean a modern day (well back then) corvette with 1000hp, it'll get views right?

Well his channel was a failure, at least when you see what he was trying to accomplish. His content was decent, i enjoyed it. But he just didn't have "THAT" type of content people will click his thumbnails for.

With someone like mike, you knew he would be good at what he does. I been following him for a while now. Back when he first got his C7Z.

His personality, what he's doing in his videos, who he's featuring, the amount of videos he puts out a week, the cars, the content of course.

And now that his channel is doing very well, there is no doubt automakers see he's successful and piggyback off of it.

That's how he's able to get these C8's early. That's how he got his C7 ZR1 early. All because of what he does for a living.

Crazy...

I still can’t understand why some folks here have so much hate towards YouTubers? It baffles me, what’s wrong with making money from doing some videos? Yeah they clickbait a lot but that’s to garner views. Views= Money! You just gotta be smart on how to obtain those views and Mike has done very well doing so. He’s one of the few, if not only channel that has always maintained a corvette in his garage. The guy LOVES vettes! How can you hate on that? Heck he gave up Mclaren 720s, he could have any car he wants but at the end of the day the ZR1 is his favorite car! It makes me feel damn good knowing Corvette is held higher than some of these other exotics! Like some said, if you don’t like it, don’t click it! While he’s out sharing the joy of owning different cars, some of y’all here crying and have your cars tucked away, no track times, no 1/4 mile times.

I totally agree. I consider myself somewhat of a youtube junkie. I don't even really watch TV anymore and probably haven't for years now.

I know I have no problem with someone that is quite successful on YT. The posts that out right seem like they hate someone for being successful are pretty pathetic.

Also for the record, just because I don't care for certain channels out there it certainly doesn't mean I "hate" them. Steetspeeds channel just doesn't float my boat and sometimes I feel like his connection to cars is not very genuine, but hey I don't know the guy personally.

I don't hate YouTube guy or gals, I just don't like the clickbait, so I don't click. I do click on video's when I am searching for something in particular. I just don't click on video's just because some forum member says I should.
