Streetspeed717 ordered another C8
I don't know about you guys but I'm getting tired of seeing what seems like the YouTube community getting preferential treatment when it comes to ordering and receiving the C8. Mike (streetspeed717) currently has 2 C8’s and just ordered a 2021 HTC he is being told her will have it in December. How is this possible when I see on here that people are ordering with a year plus wait time? I'm holding out for the Z06 but that will probably be 2025 for me since I am a peasant. What gives? I truly feel sorry for all you people getting pissed on by GM.

Meh, i figure if i get 1 million people who subscribe to what i say i might get a few products early too. Heck this guy has almost as many subscribers as Car and Driver magazine...more than Motor Trend actually.

Nobody knows the backstory to videos like this. He could have put down a deposit to get at the top of their 2021 list a long time ago and just now was able to submit the order. If you're a mainly corvette YouTube channel, it would make a lot of sense to have multiple deposits just like this, you can always back out. Most successful YouTubers know what they're doing believe it or not.

GM wants their C8 out there, in the hands of all the notable people. SS717 is one of them.

If i worked for GM, and someone here had say a #10 spot for a C8 and street speed was 50, i'd give dibs to street speed, just because he has a youtube channel that's successful. But i will try to push for that #10 customer to get his/hers faster, AFTER streetspeed gets his though haha

I knew of the option myself when I ordered and thought “$5k? Who in the world would pay that ridiculous amount for a custom VIN.” Now I know why.

dude gushes about corvettes to millions. he somehow gets away with driving badly on the streets of central pa. he strokes the dealership any chance he can. he doesn't mind paying the 5 grand to get an early vin. that's the formula. want an early car, spend the 5 grand after being on the waiting list for two years. gm gets more positive advertising from him for free than probably any place else, do you really think they mind?

I watch his videos for entertainment and if you pay attention to them you know exactly why he has more than 1 C8:
1st C8 he put a deposit with the dealership VERY early and paid that extra $5,000 as mentioned above.
2nd C8 that is the current giveaway-was ordered by another person, but they backed out. He bought it and they made it their next giveaway.
3rd C8 that he just ordered-I actually think he would have gotten another 2020 instead of a 21 if circumstances had been different. I remember him in an older video actually saying he had deposits on 2. The deposit for the 2nd one, was obviously changed to a 21 due to the strike and COVID.
Don't like his videos, don't watch. Nobody forces you to watch his videos, click on this thread, or read what I just posted.
