F8 is sexy, no doubt but who expected anything less than the results need to see a psychiatrist.
True, but it also gives one an idea of just how big of a gap the Z06 will have to make up to compete with the newer super cars. The new 992 911 Turbo S is even faster than the F8. By the time the Z06 comes out the super car companies will be coming out with their track version of these cars. It will be interesting to see how things go but the idea that all these cars are so close to 10 flat and probably even dipping in the 9s on hero runs is pretty exciting.
Where’s NCD on this string😏. F8 is gorgeous and is a whole different level of “dig monster”! No surprises here. Can’t fault the C8 for what you get for your money.....it over delivers👍

Hahaha and wait till Punky sees this thread, her dentures are gonna fly out of her mouth from rage, she's gonna be working on excuses all day to flip this story around
Well, since I'm not ever going to be able to afford a F8, (and I really wouldn't want to if I could...) I'll settle for a C8... I'll bet you that the C8 is better for most things than the F8 is... (utility, comfort, cost and ease of maintenance, repair cost crash repair, insurance...-) Easily 90% of the performance at less than 1/3d the cost...

the c8z will be GM's first supercar. All previous corvettes couldn't make the cut. C8 stingray is close. But c7 and prior, nope.

F8 suffers from an awkward looking rear end. Looks too Lotus Elise-like. Rest of it is gorgeous though. Not a huge fan of the C8's rear styling either.
Looking forward to the C8 Z06 vs. F8 test; that'll be a much better comparison.

Performance indicates otherwise. C4 ZR1, C5 Z06, C6 Z06 and ZR1, C7 Z06 and ZR1 all are supercars as their performance (all around performance including handling, not just straight line performance) was on par or better than Italy's supercars. Don't confuse the terms "supercar" and "exotic".

But but but........The c8 Z06 will be fpc NA 600hp and that's what everyone is shoving down our throats. Even though I highly suspect it will be TT 750+ hp to be able to compete against this stuff.
An na fpc will still put a c8z in supercar category. A tt fpc, which I doubt, will only enhance those credentials.
the older vettes were good, just not great. Too flawed. C7 zr1 is close but the manual stops it and the auto is just straight garbage. So that's why it's not a supercar.
c8 stingray is close but too mild to be an actual supercar. Even though it destroys already. Especially from a dig. A c8z will fix all these problems.
600 hp isn't enough to compete with the cars Z06 usually hangs with. It's only 100hp more than the car you have now. So 20-25 grand more for 100hp and better suspension and brakes and tires? That's what you guys think GM is bringing?

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
