Looks like if you get to 500 miles without any of this you should not have this problem and be good to go?
Have 40 left then
Not sure what to think, GM said June thru September build. Technically mine was finished at the end of the first week of June. I also have picture with the rear bumper off and a grease pen marking showing that says #25 2nd 3-13-20. So maybe it was on the line at time of shutdown and I have an early motor too, currently at 1,500+ miles.
That is a cylinder head part # for the LT2, not just the valves. 5 PDCs show stock.
Yeah that was just pointed out to me in another thread. That came from my dealer's service advisor. He stated there's a new number for the valve springs but clearly he gave me the wrong number.
I'm sure somebody here will find out the correct number, if it indeed changed as he stated.

My TPW was the week of Shutdown, but assembly first week of June too. I think our sub assemblies were already on site BGA just not made into a VIN. For Months. Door tag 3/20. We may have escaped and GM stating June is a cya. Not a bad thing though.
I'll have to check my bumper one day. You may have documentation that you were the 25th C8 made (or set to be made) on second shift that day. Check your VIN against 2741 to see if you were still on the line. I wasn't.

I'm certainly hoping so, at the risk of it letting go the next time I fire it up, mine runs like a watch. I don't have any ticks, or odd sounds, or anything and it is King Kong strong too, feels like a good one. Again, for all I know, it might go BOOM on the next start up too.
Likewise. Mine is a dream. None of the 40+ pdi checklist items. Fit and finish is 100. Don't want to jinx myself, but all my problems are on an RV. Even a valve stem that exploded. POS!
Looking forward to my obligatory 500 mile club video.
Absolutely fill in the blank, worse industry (can't even call it that) on the planet. Spring problems would be nothing on the list. I've had 79+ warranty items I had to repair myself - yes under warranty. Yes, i took them to court and won. Their initial response was, "Who are you to sue us?" Average list of warranty items is 2-3 dozen because the users don't even realize 90% of the problems they have. Too long a story for here.
I waa wondering the same thing. My HTC has a TPW of this week ?
The TSB says VEHICLES built between 6 1 20 and 9 15 20.
I would hope GM would not be installing engines that were built during the period of concern but i have VERY LITTLE faith in GM QI process.
From past experience with GM they will just keep installing the engine regardless of build date and hope for the best.
I think another delay on C8 builds is something GM won't allow to happen .
With that said I hope I am wrong but prior experience on my 2016 Callaway SC 757 which had the rear diff replaced at 107 miles and the entire engine and torque tube replaced at 700 miles has me questions GM QI control.
I also had my 2007 Z06 needed a clutch replacement at less than 1000 miles.
Fortunately my 14 stingray and 15 z06 where problem free.
I am hoping for the best on the 2020 HTC.
If I was using the Corvette for anything other than weekend toys I would never tolerate the pics poor GM QI process.
Fortunately I can deal with the issue as I have other toys to drive when my brand new Corvette have to go in for serious warranty issue on brand new vehicles.
Been a Corvette guy my whole life so maybe I am a gluten for punishment?
Seem the Corvette team has more QI issue than other models of Chevrolet.
I have purchased 3 new Silverado High Country's and driven them thousands of miles and never had 1 issue.
Great trucks and I would recommend them to anyone !!
I think its impossible to say that it is a GM Quality control problem. I believe it is a supplier quality problem. It is a GM problem only to the extent the parts were sourced with the current supplier. It does happen from time to time on all cars. It will be sorted out. Its a pain in the butt, I agree.
My question is how much of a penalty does the supplier pay?

You will be fine Phil. Odds are in your favor. There is much more good than bad.
Mine -- built 5/29. Also checked the build date on the door panel. 03/20 love it... So maybe no springs to pop. But do have the brake booster recall to contend with if and when parts are available.
Looks like Rick "Corvette" Conti has one his customers in the shop with valve spring breaking. Their Tech Chuck looks none too happy having to replace the springs.

phil. It's warranteed thankfully. Just drive it and stop thinking about it. Even if it pops you'll be made whole I'm sure (rental - new engine or just springs)

Oh I am, not losing sleep at all. So far it's been a great car, if it goes BOOM it does. It's a toy anyway, so it wouldn't matter how long the shop would have it. I said I hope it's OK, and that's all the thought I'm putting into it.
Is anyone within the range of build dates communicated going to proactively have their engine inspected? What is entailed? Do they have to remove the engine? Wondering if I should take mine in or just keep driving it and hoping it doesn't fail.
A visual inspection isn't going to identify a valve spring prone to sudden breakage. That would require removal of all springs and eddy current testing equipment dealers aren't equipped with.
The problem here is sudden breakage. The springs look and perform just fine until breakage.
Thinking ahead to my10/8 NCM delivery, what is the closest (reputable) Chevy dealer to the NCM should I get hit with the dreaded Valve Spring failure. We will do some local cruising before taking her over to Auto Armor for PPF, however since the failure seems to hit early I figure to get a few hours of cruising locally as a test run.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
