Mine is being done during PDI if I ever get my car. I called the Sales Mgr and asked him to install it, he said no problem. It is cheaper during PDI than if you go back later. GM allows 1.7 hrs for install at PDI only.

Agreed, his videos have become unwatchable click-bait. His videos used to have at least semi-relevant info but ever since he took his delivery it's gotten so bad I've quit watching. Sounds like it's getting even worse now with misleading headlines and flat-out false info.

They go for between $400-500. If you have the template that is a plus. Templates are online for about $35. Include the template from your new high wing, you won't need it because you already have the holes drilled.

I have to say his last video was the first time I was ever actually mad after watching it. I was legit excited thinking the car he was following was a real z06 mule. Then him laughing hysterically about viewers spending 10-15 minutes watching his own car in fake camo drive around just got under my skin.

Yes call the service manager. They do the install.

I have Sky Cool Grey interior so the silver in the stinger stripes kind of goes with the interior. I also like how the stinger strips accentuate the contour of the hood. So we’ll see I could always remove them.
DOH! I totally missed your color layout on the HTC.....I was thinking coupe....totally get what you are saying now and the Stingers make sense. full, dual black stripes might have been a little much with the carbon roof and nacelles.......

Not bad for a dummy that can’t spell Stripes correctly. At least I got it right one time out of 4

I live in Ohio less than 2 hours from Conti’s dealership. In 2015 I tried to get a hold of him to put in an order for a C7 since my local dealer had no allocations left. After being told he was too busy to answer my calls and never returning a call I called Mike Furman. It took 5 minutes to put down my deposit and 8 weeks later I flew to Baltimore and drove home my new C7. Well this time around it never crossed my mind to call him. I’m heading to Criswell this coming Saturday to take delivery of my new C8 from Mike Furman. Although a little longer wait this time....14-1/2 months lol

Notice he drops negative info just before a 3 day weekend when few people from GM can confirm?
That’s 3 days of free clicks. The guy is a parasite.

It's a shame there is so much click bait out there. I replied to Brink of Speed that seems to have taken what Rick Conti said and made his own click bait. I commented with the fact that there are resources here that state it isn't true, and asked what his source was and if it was Rick Conti. He replied, never answering the question, just saying he said it was a rumor in the post and it looks like it's coming true. Whatever - I asked again if it was the same source.

I've only recently started watching all these Youtube videos, and while sometimes they're informative, I can see there is no filter for nonsense or falsehood in what is being said. That is true even if this ends up being true.

Anyway.... hope the plant opens back up on the 7th, and stays open long enough for all of us to get our builds!

Click Bait Example (He can say it's rumor, but this was his title):

"LONG Corvette Plant SHUTDOWN Again! When will GM FINISH Your 2021 C8's?"

These guys need to get called out to 1) explain the source (even if not by name if not appropriate), and 2) when all they're doing is taking someone else's non-substantiated news and repeating it -- state that, and 3) stop putting the title as if it's fact if it's not! Granted this one he could argue he was talking about the extra week that goes until 7 June -- but that wasn't what his video is about.

I appreciate this forum -- I also listed this forum as my source, perhaps it will get a few members here

I am also another long suffering person waiting frustratedly on my c8. I have a status 3000 Match allocation with Macmulkin. I live in Northern Ohio so the longer it continues to take the less I can use it until it would get put away for the winter. If I extend driving it into the fall I also need to deal with the hassle of figuring out what to do with the z51 tires.

Given that and the uncertainty of everything right now I am thinking of taking the car when I get it and using it for any remaining portion of the summer (assuming that there is any). I will then resell it. My price would be just the equivalent 2022 price including taxes (not looking to make any money). I would also get on someones 2022 msrp waiting list (probably Macmulkin again or maybe Kerbeck).

That would allow me to use it for a small amount of time without the need to store it. Also can tweak my build slightly if I decide to based on my initial experience and any possible 2022 changes. In addition this would extend the warranty a bit and decrease what will eventually be some depreciation.

Of course this all assumes I can sell the “close to new” c8 at the given price. Also assumes I will be able to get an allocation by next spring and avoid being right back where I am now. My build is loaded (3lt, z51, magnetic ride, front lift, red mist, interior carbon, engine appearance package, trident spoke wheels, edge red calipers). Only thing really missing is the fact that its not a convertible. Will probably end up costing about me 91000 with tax (paying msrp). Assuming a reasonable 2022 price increase that would mean I would probably need to sell it for about 95000.

I will be purchasing the vehicle in cash so dealing with financing would be a non issue. Curious if anyone else thinks this is a viable plan?

Also in a winter climate. We have waited this long and selling your car will not be a problem. The problem is this then starts all over with a 22. Long wait, shutdowns, and next year we are in the same boat. Take the car and enjoy it!

I just got an email from Lori. I had asked on May 18th about my tpw and she was out of office. She must have just seen it and responded this morning.

As of today...
TPW of 7/12

my original tpw was 6/14. So in total I’ve moved back about a month (so far). 🤞it doesn’t get pushed back much further.

Thanks for the info. That helps those of us who had a 6/14 TPW and don't want to bother the NCM because of not having NCM delivery.

I also heard from Lori (I had emailed her while she was on vacay mid May) and she said I'm at week of 7/5. I previously was 6/21. So that's a two week addition, which makes sense for 2 week shutdown.

Kinda feel like the date means little at this point, so maybe in another 3 weeks I'll check in again and consider ordering some of the things I wanted them to install for my NCM delivery.
