Tomorrow is a new month with better news. Hopefully most of us stay in J month for our build and I don't mean January.

 

I will be a very happy guy if this is true. I just need two weeks of uninterrupted production starting next week to take delivery of my car on my birthday.

My question is why would Conti say something like that when it was unsubstantiated? Does he care about his reputation? You never see Mike Furman spreading that kind of information.

 

Like somebody already said.....CLICKS! That's why he put in the title of his YouTube "MORE SAD NEWS regarding '21 production!".

 

Clicks don't get you business when you are spreading false information. Just sayin.........

 

He's got no cars to sell anyway. He makes money off YouTube. That's probably what's supplementing his income with no C8's available.

 

Or, to put it another way, he will sell every Corvette he has and is doing whatever he can to maximize his other revenue stream.

 

Personally I never was a fan of Conti. To me he just reeks of cheese and seems so fake.

Anyhow, I'm pretty sure he's more concerned with hits on his video's than anything else.

 

Cause conti is a POC (crap), and only cares about his clicks and not actually selling cars.

 

I have been clicking this thread almost scared every day with the bad news that keep rolling in for you guys since I took delivery.

I really hope Conti is wrong...1) Because I can't stand him. 2) Because I need my fellow Marchies to get out there in force with their cars!

Not trying to rub it in just thought this was a hell of a coincidence. Mike Furman delivered his 5000th corvette Saturday. Zipity was there to film the occasion. My car arrived there on 5/20 and I’m taking delivery next Saturday 6/5. So I was watching the video last night. At the 10:23 mark Zipity heads to the lot to show all the C8’s waiting to be delivered. Low and behold he films my SO Z51 HTC with the Stinger Strips I ordered. I couldn’t believe it! What do you guys think about the strips? I was starting to have my doubts but it was too late to change. I like them.

 

No need to second guess your car, It is sharp! Also seeing rear spoiler vs no spoiler I like the z51 spoiler much better. Enjoy your car while we wait on.

 

Thanks! Actually they are taking the Z51 spoiler off and installing a High Wing spoiler. I might try to sell the Z51 spoiler but I would have to ship it home. My wife is joining me no room for the spoiler.

Excellent! Seeing cars delivered (or on tape at the dealership which is cool), is something all of us need to see. You are certainly not rubbing it in at all. You are one of us. Having been through all the trials and tribulations, you are about to come out on the other side, which gives the rest of us March folks hope. If I had been more in the "know" when I ordered my C8, I would have gotten it from Mike. I have come to learn he is a straight shooter, and truly loves the brand, and seems to really appreciate his customers.....

Regarding the stripes. Remember you DID ask :-) I think the stinger stripes work on certain colors, primarily silver. for SO, no question, it requires the full racing stripes in carbon. SO is the only color of the C8 I have seen up close and personal. A local Corvette club member allowed me to sit in his to make sure I could fit in the coupe, and it had the full-length stripes. I don't know if you have seen SO in the flesh yet, but let me tell you, it is going to blow your mind. Inside under artificial lights the metallic was popping. I got the full racing stripes for my RM. A mid-engine car can look a little "stubby" on the front, and the full stripes stretch out the site line, IMO. I saw the SO C8 two days before I had to lock in my selections. I was this close to changing to it. I struggled for two days on that decision. In the end, a darker shade of red is my favorite color for a car.

Thanks for the kind words and I appreciate your take on the strips. I did contemplate full racing strips. With Carbon Flash Roof and Nacelles I don’t like how they lay it over the existing Carbon Flash on the roof. To me the Stinger Strips were a nice compromise. I have Sky Cool Grey interior so the silver in the stinger stripes kind of goes with the interior. I also like how the stinger strips accentuate the contour of the hood. So we’ll see I could always remove them.

 

If you don’t mind ??? How much did you pay?

 

Would you happen to know if it's the Body Shop or the Service Dept. at the dealership that swaps out the wings? I have a high wing waiting for my car and I called my dealer and spoke to the body shop mgr. about switching them before I pick up my car and he literally didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe I should have spoken to the Service Mgr. instead.
