The extended plant shutdown, if confirmed by GM, certainly not welcome news for any of us.
My situation: The warranty on my current car runs out in May 2022. Ideally I wanted a replacement/C8 as soon as the warranty runs out and I was second guessing if I started the C8 process too early, but I am not regretting that decision now.
The way this is going nothing is too early for this clown show.
As I said many weeks ago.... Lucky to see fall delivery if at all. I bought a Carbon Flash Z51 spoiler and a Z51 splitter that may be in the FS section soon. Ridiculous!!
It's funny you should post that. I was JUST thinking the same thing. I've got all kinds of parts, accessories, tools, etc. that are sitting in the basement. I thinking now, 'Will all this stuff work on a C9?'
Well now its a 4 week shutdown per Rick Conti. Should give NCM plenty of time to get caught up by then. Sigh.
I get that they ran out of parts, or whatever. But didn't GM know that 2 weeks ago? Why bother saying we're closing for 1 week, when that wasn't even close to being true - only to close for a month?
#3000forever.
I am actually counting it as a 5 week shutdown if Rick is correct. BGA will down for 5 of 6 weeks. I am still going to be patient and see if this is confirmed or not. If it does turn out to be true the shutdowns in 21 will be getting very close to the same number of days lost in 20.

I'm sure he's correct, Boomer. If it were good news THEN I would question it.

While all the official GM spokespersons are like most enjoying the Memorial Day weekend, what I preliminarily heard back is that BGA is re-opening on Monday, June 7th. I will keep digging; hope to reach a official GM spokesperson but again with this being a special weekend…
As stated earlier, Conti has been very wrong before. More dirt gets more hits on his YT site.
I like some of the content he provides but since he has his C8, he has been providing less content on the supply side, and I thought the video today was ridiculous. I would prefer less click bait and more substance. Anyway, I hope he's wrong, I also wish he would have given it more than 5 seconds rather glossing over it, if true, it's huge breaking news. None we want to hear, but he hasn't seemed to want to share or go into the "hard stuff" since getting his.

If he is wrong he should be ostracized for it. It is pretty much lobbing a grenade into the forums.
I swear, this whole ordeal has had more ups and downs then a hooker on a Saturday night! Let's see IF Conti comes out with a YouTube apology......don't hold your breath.
