Picked up my car yesterday (built on 10/21, picked up on 11/11). Not going to lie I have a love / hate relationship with the hypersonic gray. With direct sunlight it does give off some green or blue hues (not a fan) but at night it looks like a richer gray which I love!

White is always going to be white...red is always going to be red....you get my drift.

I have a HPG supposedly about ready to be built. You state a production date of 10/21 and a delivery date of 11/11.
How long had it been at the dealership before you took delivery?

Thanks...I too saw the green hue and was wishing I didn't.

If I’m not mistaken the dealer got the car on 11/6 and Thursday was the earliest I could pick it up.

Gaaah. Your post is a perfect example of why this is such a hard decision! White is white, black is black, red is red, orange is orange, blue is blue. Only HGM and SFM change so much depending on light conditions and angle.

I have until noon tomorrow (Saturday) to decide to go with HGM or not. Still haven't seen it in person. I'm going over to MacMulkin to look first thing in the am.

NOTES:
* I am going with base silver wheels. I like them. If I want to change them later I will.
* I will add black rockers later.
* I will not be adding any wing/spoiler or splitter.
* I am going with black calipers.
* I am going with one color, not two-tone on the interior.

Other notes: I picked HGM because I am going for classic, not flashy. I want the option of keeping this for a long time and never tiring of it. And I am going towards driver, not cars-and-coffee.

Here are my three HGM choices (in random order) with pix of each.
BONUS: on any of the below, body color or carbon flash mirrors?

1. 2LT - black interior - carbon flash trim.

2. 2LT. Body color trim. Natural seats.

3. 3LT. Body color trim. Natural dipped.

I like 2Lt, Body Colored Vents, and Natural Seats. My build is close to yours but am adding low spoiler & splitter, Edge Red calipers, Front Lift, and Z51 package with Mag Ride. My wife and I are "negotiating" over natural vs gray interior. Guess you know how that will turn out. I opt for natural, like I got a snow ball's chance in you know where.

I was all set on HSG saw it in person and all. I like grays and silvers too. But the more I looked the more I thought that a Corvette should pop with color and not blend in with all of the other cars on the road. I've owned many colors including Torch Red on my last C8. I changed from HSG to Red Mist and I'm glad I did. The RM really glows in the sun. Again it's all personal but a C8 should be seen from a distance. Either way you will have a super car!

I found this pic this AM, My exact build with body color accents, I am so pumped up. Not the best quality pic but you get the idea of HSG and Morello Red interior. Looks bad A$$!

Hi gang, I went to MacMulkin Saturday morning and arrived as they opened at 8 am. As a result I had the place, and their salespeople to myself. Their salespeople are terrific, one spent about 45 minutes with me just walking around the cars, talking pros and cons of options. And I had a nice bonus - they had TWO pre-owned C8s for sale in the second floor showroom! This means you can sit in them - and one of them had the exact interior (black, CF trim) I was about to order, and the other was a two-tone natural that I had decided not to get - and sitting in it reinforced my decision.

They had TWO HGM on the second floor for me to see! But I also wanted to see SFM to compare, and there were none on the second floor. But the salesperson took me to the third floor, where MacMulkin owner keeps a diverse personal collection of historic cars under cover and on trickle chargers. There, a customer’s Silver Flare was sitting.

So this was a great visit - a private guided tour of a C8 showroom complete with my own docent, where I got to see the exact color I came to see AND the exact color I wanted to see for comparison AND I got to sit in the two interiors I was considering for my order.

And the reveal…I’m going with HGM, 2LT, HTC, GT2 in black, NPP, MRC, edge red calipers, standard exterior trim…no wing, splitter, and NO carbon fiber interior (I was going to get it and I decided I like the brushed aluminum interior better). This is the car that cemented that color choice for me.

Thank you! Also, I should add that I’m glad I got to see the base wheel in carbon flash/polished lip. It’s terrific on this car. BUT I went with the base silver wheel because I’m going to have the spokes painted to get this look - I like staying OEM but I also like to have something just slightly different, and this would accomplish both for me. I think it will look terrific on HGM. Thanks to Red Rooster’s owner for the inspiration!
