I think a lot of us were disappointed when we first saw the color reveal on a single panel but this color is looking pretty awesome!
I think we are going to be disappointed when we see this color in person, on a whole car. I was at the NCM and saw the panels with the new colors. While I agree indoor lighting can do funky things with paint colors, I do not see this gray (or silver) being nearly as dark as the color shown on GMs webpage. I too would be easily sold on the shade on GMs webpage. But I am bewildered that this volor, in person, looks too close to the SF AND CGM colors.
Who is GM having selevt these new colors? In my humble opinion, there is not a winner I n the 3 new colors. And whoever signed off on caffine brown (meatloaf) should be fired. What were they thinkong?
RACE U — are you “anti-brown” in all cases or just what you saw of Caffeine? I really like Zeus and was disappointed it got cancelled. The pic of the Caffeine panel we saw looked more Mahogany than meatloaf and at least intrigued me. You obviously hated it but I’d like a bit more of “why.”

Im kinda digging Hypersonic Gray Metallic, but agree. I think they replaced a good color (Sebring Orange) with a less interesting version of the same. Caffeine reminds me of the C7 Black Rose Metallic…which lasted one year.

Agree. I too wonder if the indoor shots are over exposed. The outdoor comparative photos Provide a more realistic sample of what Hypersonic Gray Metallic will look like. I think the comparison next to white is the most informative. I own a Shadow Gray ZL1, so HGM is significantly lighter…which I don’t think is a bad thing because as Gorgeous is SGM was, it is really hard to keep clean.

I will of course reserve judgement until I can see these paint colors on a production car in person since computer monitors are seldom color correct. Here's hoping one of these colors works for me.

I think Red Mist is gorgeous, and you can’t go wrong with Torch Red…but Hypersonic is really growing on me. If none of them do it for you, wait for a 2023. “Caffeine” will be replaced after only 15 people buy one.

Sorry. Not really. The yellow stripes are what ties the IMSA C8R Commemorative Edition together.
…and it’s “only” $94k. Though there is some debate if the $6500 upcharge INCLUDES the high wing spoiler, Z51 and a 3LT interior or if it is a high wing spoiler, 3LT & Z51 PLUS $6500…in that case you’re right.

LOL, well the way things are going, I may have no choice but to wait for a 2023.
This is getting a little ridiculous. 2022 ordering is right around the corner and we haven’t seen a fully painted car in this color.
I know there are setbacks from the shortage, and thing are being affected in all sorts of ways, but we should at least be able to see the new colors in all it’s glory.

See my post #58 above. The commemorative edition #4 car is in Hypersonic Gray Metallic. Looks awesome. I think any stripe set will look amazing.
On the Visualizer this color looks much darker than the panels we have seen...note that on the same Visualizer CMG looks much darker than reality....
I agree, I don't think the visualizer is accurate. I was told the Hypersonic Gray is more of a darker liquid silver which is what I've been hoping for. As long as the color is not on constraint, we should be seeing it before the end of October at dealers that have them on order for customers.
Maybe it'll be similar to the Ferrari color grigio titanio titanium gray. It's one of the most stunning grays. I'm partial to the reds since I'm coming from a gray car but a good gray might tempt me. At least for me Shadow Gray is too dark, CMG is too weird, and Silver Flare is probably too light.
Beautiful how the light hits it and not too dark or too light. Might be able to achieve a similar look on the C8.
