Are we really sure that was Hypersonic... Blade Silver .... I mean grey...... ? Since there was a long beach car there clearly these aren't new. If that really is Hypersonic that's disappointing and the minivan quote was the most apropos.

I don't know about common, but some colors have been delayed or as they say in the car world: "late availability"
When the 2020 C8's first rolled out, only certain colors were being produced initially, then gradually all of the colors were brought online.
True. I had to wait quite a while for my Blade Silver, maybe the 4th or 5th allocation. I was 29th at RHD in Atlanta, but was passed many times due to Blade Silver being on constraint. So, especially with all of the delays, strike, etc, I had to wait about a year to finally get my car. Due to health issues I wasn't sure that I would be here when it was. But I got it and I love it. Not so much silver flare.

Econocars and SUVs are not inherently interesting in design, and silvers and grays highlight that. When I see a C8 in TR, red mist, orange, or either of the blues, I see the color more than the car. I think they're beautiful, truly, but it isn't the visual I would choose for my own C8. I really like the C8 lines, and to my eye the two current silvers show off the lines really well. I suspect HSG will, too.
The C8 is my first Corvette. I have been waiting patiently for the mid engine Vette since when it was first supposed to come out in 1972. I was never that crazy about the front engine Corvette. Regardless, one day I was driving my motorcycle back home from the Georgia mountains when I passed a blade silver C7. Late afternoon sun. That C7 looked stunning. One of the most beautiful cars that I had ever seen. I passed, slowed, and repassed that car about 10 times before driving on. The driver probably thought I was crazy. I almost bought a C7, but held off when I found out that my mid engine, Blade Silver Corvette would finally be coming next. A good silver does show off a car's lines beautifully. Personally I like some cars in black and some in silver. While some may say that these are non-colors, to me the whole point is the car's lines.

I hope that you are right.

This is 100% the way I see it. In a vehicle this striking I want to see lines first rather than color first.
Funny how little love there is for SFM. I think it accomplishes this beautifully. I would not order a C8 in black though.
We need a side by side shot (not separate pics) of Silver Flare or Blade Silver next to Hypersonic.
Only way to really gauge the new shade.
Anyone able to help?
I think until the cars start arriving in dealer showrooms (for customer delivery), we will have to wait to see a side by side comparison. Probably around a month.

Unless it's Hypersonic Gray Metallic. That color is not ready to be sprayed.
Can anyone here please confirm the information that CorvetteAJ has posted?
This is my color choice on my new 2022 C8 order and I hope that I will not face any delays for my new built.
Just today my MacMulkin wait order list number dropped to 110, so I am hoping to hear from Shane Malone very soon.
I’m seriously thinking of ordering a 1lt, red interior with HGM paint. I like torch red, but red in red is a little too much. The only concern for me is if this grey/dark silver color can pop on the street and gets as much attention as bright colors.
I believe that particular photo was a marketing one and photoshopped.
HSG does NOT look that dark in full sun as evidenced by the carlisle pics and vids. I still maintain HSG was a mistake. It is way too close to the other light greys, barely any darker and a bit too much metallic flake.
Conti got his first Hyper 2022 HTC in. Looks good. The greenish tint is interesting and something I haven't seen before, but may just be his digital camera not getting the color temp quite right.
Wow HSG looks soooo good, much darker in that vid than other videos from Carlisle and it looks like the sun / light plays a major impact in HSG appearance! Very excited to get my hands on mine which has a 9/27 TPW so getting close! :-)
Sorry. Not really. The yellow stripes are what ties the IMSA C8R Commemorative Edition together.
…and it’s “only” $94k. Though there is some debate if the $6500 upcharge INCLUDES the high wing spoiler, Z51 and a 3LT interior or if it is a high wing spoiler, 3LT & Z51 PLUS $6500…in that case you’re right.
1. No way you got that for $65K
2. It’s a 1LT
3. Interior night and day difference
4. And not $100k for C8R
