My JLU Rubicon seats were extremely comfortable . 2nd to only to my Teslas. I'm hoping my C8 comes close.

My wife's 2019 Wrangler JL MOAB is a fun vehicle, especially with the half doors and soft top down. Goes just about anywhere and the Alpine sound system with the big woofer in the back is pretty impressive. The ride is much better than past Wranglers, but it is still a ride with noise even when the hardtop is back on, but at least you can hear the music then. LOL! The tires are extremely aggressive, but that's the way she wants it. With that said, the C8 is of course a totally different experience and with the top down and the side windows up, the Bose does damn good. It is way more fun to drive, no explanation needed and is my preferred ride for all kinds of reasons. Just glad we have both.

I agree. My C8 will probably be mostly a garage queen, but the Jeep has always been my go to vehicle. It does well in flooded streets, off-road, on-road, beaches, easy to park downtown; door ding proof (surrounded by rock rails and plastic fenders), can drop the top and remove the doors in nice weather, it fits in about anywhere.
The only downside is it feels light on its feet at 75 mph and only gets worse from there.

They’re actually fairly comfortable if you don’t mess with them.
Back in 1974 it was a very utilitarian Jeep. Although I had the Renegade package that got a V8 but the interior was spartan. I had painted floors and just used small rubber mats in the front. Worked for me! In the winter I went to a DIY car wash at least weekly to wash off the tons of salt they used in NE OH. Took the high pressure wand and blasted inside and out. I drilled a few small floor drains.

It recall those 1st All-Terrain radials from BF Goodrich. Saw those in a car mag being used in Baja by the BF Goodrich Jeep Race Team. However although my Jeep came with the Renegade aluminum wheels they were only 7 1/2 inches wide as I recall. The smallest tires available required 11 inch wide wheels.

I called BF Goodrich and got an engineer. I asked if their smaller 15 inch size would work with my 7 1/2 inch wide wheels. I recall he said sure, in Baja we use narrow rims so when we hit a large rock the tire takes the shock NOT the wheel. We bring lots of tires and not than many wheels. Told him I was looking for a softer ride (I was getting pinched nerves in my neck from the constant pounding!) He said just run 15 to 16 psi and it will be a softer ride. It sure was!

Funny - As i pulled out of my Dealership after my first annual service, a Jeep was behind me. Good vibes! All I could tell is he had a light bar above the windshield. He was a little dot before long as i merged onto the interstate. But then a crazy Hyundai came up next and i realized he was videoing as he went by.

My JKU Rubicon is great for what it is. Incredibly capable, fun, reliable and financially one of the best vehicles you could own - far better than Vettes. Just sold my sons JK - paid 16k 5 years ago. Just sold for 16.5K. Still have my JKU Rubicon I bought new in 2008.

It's not that good. I just sold my 2008 GMC Sierra for $20,000. I paid $20K back in 2008! I think that this is more a reflection of the supply chain and the reduced availability of used vehicles.

Jeeps are known for their high resale values. I've owned three over the years. In my experience, I bought the most recent one (that I just sold), because I go through cars like water and didn't want to take a bath again.
I've either made money or sold for practically what I've paid....even before the chip issues.

The current situation right now means you can sell your Jeep for a profit. Resell has always been high though even before the pandemic. In normal times you can buy a Jeep for $40k and a Civic for $25k and after 5 years the Jeep will end up costing less than the Civic when you factor in resell. It’s one of the only vehicles that doesn’t incinerate your equity.

I was just being a bit facetious, but also surprised with the current used car market place - C8 excluded. That's a whole other world.

Corvette + Jeep = Best of both worlds

* To each his own. I speak for myself. Always had a Wrangler parked next to my Vette. The Corvette does whatever the Jeep can not. And vice versa. You gotta wave in both vehicles, and they are both pleasure to drive. In a very different way.

Wrangler holds value really well. Try to buy a used one and soon, you’re getting new.

Yep - exactly why I bought my JKU Rubicon new in 2008 and now my son's 2021 4Runner TRD. For a few thousand bucks more than used you can buy new.

What I can’t figure out is there is no Wrangler shortage that I know of. You can easily order from a volume dealer for less than invoice and get it in less than 2 months, yet trade in values are higher than MSRP?
Given the patience it takes to get a C8, a 2 month wait for anything else feels like an impulse buy.

There is a shortage of used ones, and not as many new ones. Last time I checked the largest Jeep dealer near me had 1 used Wrangler on the lot and he said they normally have 10-15. He’s never seen so few. In terms of new most people don’t want to wait 2 months to buy and order a vehicle. Most people buy right off the lot and there are definitely fewer new Jeeps in inventory. If you want a specific color and trim you might be buying out of state. Many Jeep dealers in the last month have cut back on discounts, I had to fight like hell to get 4% under invoice abs buy out of state. The Jeep dealer I bought my last Wrangler from gave me 8% under invoice (this was 2 years ago). He told me the lowest he could go was 1% under now because of demand and more limited supply.

So've I got a 2018 2 door JL, and will be adding the C8 to it. To me, it's the perfect comdo platter.
And the wife drives a Rav4 Hybrid as she commutes a way to work(I work out of my house, so don't care about MPG). Here's my Jeep:

I guess I don’t get the idea of why everybody is suddenly clinging onto their Jeeps, especially when there’s profit that can be made.

I’m guessing it’s because if you sell your current one then you have to buy a replacement vehicle and new vehicles are scarce and might be marked up.
