My 23 HTC has this problem they have had it in the shop 7 days replaced several servo, controllers sent many videos to Corver factory engineers and they havent a clue whats causing it.
I have 4,100 miles on mine and have opened and closed the top probably 100 times or more. I just noticed the the passenger side mechanism piece that some say has a large space gap is covered in fabric. It appears that my fabric is tearing. It must be rubbing during the open and closing process. I will be taking it to the dealer for repair and adjustment. The photo below shows the issue with the fabric on two ends of the panel with the gap.
Gap with the roof panel and tears in the fabric on the side passenger mechanism.
Mine is at the dealer for tearing the passenger side fabric above the window. They have replaced it twice, replaced the servo motors and controller. still cuts the new fabric.
my c8 roof will not close properly. third time this has happened in 2 1/2 years and 25,000 miles. BUT this time the service rep stated they had to order a part. Not sure what part BUT that was on October 28th and i am still waiting. Can drive with roof down no problem but if raining or cold then roof has to be up but you can only drive 58mph or less which is no fun. cant believe it is taking this long for a part, almost three months. otherwise love my car.
To those that have bought the convertible have you had any problems associated with the mechanical/hydraulic during the open/closing of the roof, etc.
Just picked up my 2024 C 8 Convertible. Top does not close correctly after being down for over an hour. The top seems to come up crooked. I have appointment to have it looked at in 2 weeks.
2024 C 8 HTC. The day I picked up my C 8, the convertible top did not close, it went all through the process, and when it was supposed to clamp down, roof was misaligned and missed the post. Thais happens about every 4 times top is raised. I Have had it back to the dealer, and they found no problems. This has continued. Anyone else have this issue?

No. But what happens when it misses the post? What do you do? Do you raise and lower it again? That is, how do you recover when it happens?
Sounds like the dealer is giving the classic "customer concern not duplicated".

I think you may want to consider a different dealer. I've had NO issues with my 2021 HTC.
No problems thus far, but I only have a little over 500 miles. Haha.
I will say, somewhat unrelated, that I came really close to getting a coupe. A convertible was my first choice, and I have to say, I'm really glad I stuck with my first choice. I love the ability to open and close the roof on the fly and I also prefer the rear profile of the convertible to the coupe. However, I think all of us HTC owners will admit, yes, of course we wish we could see the engine.
Agree, we just need to cough up the dough for the clear engine cover so we can 'kind of' see the engine. If I ever ordered a Z06 the choice would be harder.

I'll admit that if coupe owners admit that if they are on a road trip with luggage in the trunk, they can't remove the top since they are unable to store it in the occupied trunk.

I have the same problem. Recycling the roof seems to correct it. Would love to see a permanent solution.
I’ve got 1,500 miles on my ‘24 HTC, and I’ve done maybe 15 up and down cycles. So very little usage to report on, but operates perfectly. Sorry for those with issues! I thought electric motors would be more trouble free than hydraulic systems, but there seem to be alignment and other issues at play here. I hope GM gets it straightened out.
Love my HTC, however I have a continual problem with my window indexing on the right passenger side. Once it raises to the closed position it then drops down about 2 inches. It does not happen on my driver side and I have reset the indexing multiple times to only have it work for only one or two times before it drops again.
I am bringing up an old thread here as a lot of info on the forum…but my brand new HTC has done this a few times. Meaning, passenger side window goes up, then drops few inches. fortunately just holding the window button it goes back up into position. Does the re-indexing help this matter or is there another fix?
Thanks
Seems like every other time the htc is opened/closed, I have to re-index. My gap kind of looks like the above pic on passenger side, although no tears in fabric yet. Will watch it, and even though the reindexing is simple, seems to be something I will have to do quite regularly. Anyone else having this same issue?
