Been told debadging cuts down on the drag coefficient, thus making the car go faster!!!!!!!!!

Strange to quote one's self .... Some time has passed since that post.

I removed the fish, and kept the script. I kept the script because it's not so busy as I originally thought, and when I sell the car, it may be an issue reinstalling. The fish should be EZ-PZ.

The GM side of the collection. Caddy retained hood and trunk lock emblem. I’m SO pleased that chevy used tape-on instead of pegs on the vette emblems!

No pic exists with all the vehicles in one, but every car/truck/motorcycle/boat/ski/airplane I own has been de-badged/or heavily modified badge.

I fall in the category of “ur trippin if you think my vehicle is going to look like any other on the dealer lot”

So’s the boomerang, but I’m not removing that. I’m proud to own a Corvette and enjoy cleaning around the logo letters of my childhood dream car.

If some are embarrassed it’s a Corvette, prefer the naked look or want to claim it’s a Mclaren with a straight face, go for it. I still see that as a win for the brand because they still bought one. To each his own.

Debadged some, not others.

I debadged the front of my C8 as I found the crossed flags colors a bit garish for my colors. I kept it like that for a bit, then decided to re-badge, but with the all-black cross flags. I have had a couple comments from folks saying they “don’t like the non-OEM look” of the black crossed flags.I didn’t particularly care - I like it a lot - but I am amused that GM now offers the crossed flags in all black (I think it’s $125? I painted mine myself ).

Started with this…

Personally, I feel the GM designers did a pretty good job on the C8, so I do not second guess them and leave mine 'as is'.
Some feel the need to change things just for the sake of change, perhaps it makes them feel their C8 is more "theirs". Which is perfectly Fine.
Whatever gives the individual owner the most enjoyment out of their C8 is the correct answer.

When I had the front end PPF’d in April they removed the front cross flag and when I came the next day to pick it up the installer said they hadn’t reinstalled it because many like it better removed. After seeing the badge removed I immediately like it because without the cross flag the lines on front fascia really popped. They said I could bring it back anytime to have it reinstalled for free.

I may have it reapply in the future but for now I love the way it looks debadged.

FWIW the CORVETTE is applied poorly and catches threads too, but I love the way it looks.

So true, I've washed mine maybe twice since Feb, but dust it daily (ceramic coated) the Corvette on the trunk are as flimsy as can be.
the duster constantly gets snagged. if it wasn't for how good the black on grey look they would be off

I don't think anyone taking off their badges is embarrassed to have a corvette or claiming its' a Mclaren. lol! It's just badges. Now if someone put some Ferrari emblems or Mclaren emblems on our car, that's a different story.

If I ever bought a Ferrari or Lambo, I'd take off any emblems that are stuck on my tape only. I'll debadge everything that isn't on pegs and would create a hole.

And some lack the confidence to try different things to make the car more theirs. Which is also perfectly fine.

It's so strange how anyone refers to "embarrassed it's a corvette" or "trying to hide" what a car is through debadging.

As someone who is a fan of debadging those are hardly the motivations why I debadge most of my cars, and I have yet to meet anyone when discussing debadging who was wanting to hide what their car was.

Most of us don't like the cheap look of plastic slapped on a car, or we like it to look "clean".

^^^^^ I was referring to the above post claiming he does exactly that.

Anyways, I don’t care what other people do with their C8…I was simply rattling off possible reasons. I agree most debadge their C8 for the “naked” look.

Some are OEM "purists," while others want to personalize a vehicle, sometimes radically so. With a few exceptions, like upgraded aftermarket wheels and perhaps an occasional bolt-on like a cat-back aftermarket exhaust, I'm an OEM purist. Even then, I try to stick to a classic look in keeping with the OEM style.

All OEM badges always stay on. They are part of a vehicle's history.

There might be a few people out there looking to do some trolling though its got to be a pretty small minority of people removing badges. The car community does have its fair share of "that" type of owner. C8 has brought a lot of new buyers to the corvette brand so a lot larger spectrum of owners exits than prior models.

Most likely if you did some digging someone's even done some videos on tik tok, or another platform, trying to troll people with a debadged car.

So I guess de-badging is still a thing, huh?...Not for me but to each their own...

This is a far greater crime! Rebadging...ha!
