Default October Allocation Tracking

Hi all, since it's October, and I volunteered to help manage the allocation spreadsheet, I figured I'd get the ball rolling. Basics are below, followed by some questions. Note that October allocation means you went to 2000 in October. If you went 2000 in September, please use this thread: September
  • Spreadsheet will be a google sheets file, which means everyone can go in and enter/edit their own row as appropriate.
  • This will give everyone the best real-time data, since it saves as you go. That was you don't have to wait for me to upload a picture or file to the thread or anything.
  • I included fields for a lot of info, some of which people may not want to share. Totally fine if you don't want to put MSRP, etc. It's just some info that makes for some more interesting summary tables.
  • Instructions are on the first tab of the file, but definitely let me know if you have any questions.
  • If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, just send me a PM with your info. I have no problem doing the work for anyone who's not tech savvy or are otherwise unable to do it.
  • If you're with a dealer that is not listed, just let me know, and I can add it to the list for selecting.
File location: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S2EF7vRYCmVXu1pUu1iXK5qiZRBmAuRBgQvY2m-Frqs/edit
Note: Some companies (mine included) block filesharing sites like this. I can edit it from my phone and my home computer, but not my work one. So keep that in mind if you get an error that says it was blocked.

FYI, this will probably be iterative at first as people use it and we find bugs/issues, but hopefully those are resolved quickly and easily. Thanks in advance to early adopters who will, perhaps unwillingly, help me troubleshoot

One question: When do people actually become a part of an allocation? When they go 2000? Like how does someone know what allocation they are part of?

Thanks!

Sounds like enough people are interested in keeping my file alive, so that's fine with me.

@Faste60 feel free to grab data from my file as often as you wish to make yours more complete, and I might do the same from yours to get more data points in mine.

thank you for doing this! These threads are really the key for people in the allocations to get a good idea when their car is likely to be built. And it's fun to go through it with others who are doing it at the same time too. One suggestion is you include shane/lori's email on the spreadsheet, as that seems to be the most asked question... And yes, status 2000 indicates "order accepted by GM", so I think you can interpret that as having your allocation.

Hmm, I see what you're saying, but I don't know that I want to encourage (even if just implicitly) people to email them.

I'm actually a September allocation, but I like to do stuff like this, so I figured I'd get the ball rolling and then if it works out, it can be used perpetually with very little maintenance needed.

Does anyone know when the first October allocations will start to show up? I think I read somewhere that they are done twice a month, but I couldn't find it with a quick look.

Let me be the first to enter, no allocation yet but one is expected on the next go around.
The first is expected on October 9.
If you don't want me to enter now, just delete my entry.
Thanks
Dan

No, definitely happy to have people start to put in info to help shake out any bugs early. Thanks for being the first guinea pig!

@Mike1320 looks like you added yourself but I think you’re a September allocation. You should post on Faste60’s September allocation thread. You can stay on the sheet if you want, but it’s mostly intended to track people who will get an allocation in October and (probably) builds in Nov/Dec.

Thanks to those who have entered data. Already found/fixed a couple things!

@op z if you want to tell me who your dealer is, I can add them to the drop down.

@Doowopbob did you enter data and then delete it? I saw you on the spreadsheet earlier but gone now. Wasn’t sure if that was you or someone else came in and cleared you out by accident.

yes, I had entered data and then realized the SS is intended for October allocation tracking. I was in the September group with a TPW of 10/25 so I deleted my data. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem at all. One concern I have with this approach is people accidentally deleting someone else’s data. If you deleted your own, and for a reason, that’s good news!

Looks like most of the people on the spreadsheet so far are really September allocations, but for now I’m not worried about that. We can clean it up later. Glad to have some people to help test it out before we get October allocations into full swing.

Wow, I'm impressed just how badly some of you can break what I thought was a pretty solid file

Been making tweaks the last week or so as I see how you guys are entering (and deleting) data, etc.

Since some calls are undoubtedly happening and upcoming, just wanted to bump this back up for people who are in the October allocation so they can start getting their name on the list. I'll likely remove any September allocations at some point, but leaving them in there for now.

We can probably do a real good job of screwing things up!

Hopefully we can start filling in the blanks next week.

Bumping this back up in anticipation of today or tomorrow being the big glut of October allocations.

My local dealer let me know on Consensus day last Thursday, Oct 7 that he is getting two allocations for the month of Oct. Since I am next up at my dealer, he said my allocation should drop tomorrow Oct 14th and if not, the next Thursday Oct 21st. Hoping for tomorrow and go in again to confirm my order is accurate per what we entered in the GM Order Workbench on July 13.

Getting excited and feel very fortunate, as I first met with my local dealer who sells at MSRP on May 14th of this year, so getting on the list until allocation has been just shy of 5 months!

I will enter my initial data on the spread sheet and then update it after we match the allocation tomorrow, Oct 14 or the following Thursday, Oct 21.

Cheers,

-Garry

Default Allocations

Does GM issue dealer allocations once a month or is there a possibility that they issue more than once a month?

My understanding is they get a Consensus for the month and then the allocations get handed down 2X per month on a Thursday! Example for my dealer, they just had their monthly Consensus on Thursday, October 7th and were told they will receive 2 allocations for the month of October. A week later, tomorrow, one of the two, or both will drop into the system and the dealer can then match a customer to the allocation.

Hope this helps,

-Garry
