That's great news! Hopefully others will be on their way soon. I'm truly excited to see our cars ship for those of us that have been on QC hold for so long.
For me, mine is still at the plant, built 11/2, VIN 5772. I checked the Jack Cooper tracking site (https://www.palsapp.com/) and they still don't have my car yet. Spoke to my salesman (MacMulkin) yesterday and they have been communicating with their rep on a daily basis to not only get mine released, but a batch of their cars that were built during the same time frame as mine. Still no luck. Mine will be stuck at the plant 5 weeks come Tuesday. And what makes it even worse is my car will be shipped to MM where it will then be put on a truck and shipped to me in California via Intercity. But that's not the worst part. Intercity only has one more planned truck heading to the west coast this year due to the holidays and my car has to be at MM by Tuesday in order for it to make the truck. So bottom line, I most likely won't receive the car until the middle of January - 2 1/2 months since it was built and paid for, with the warranty ticking away. To say I am pissed is an understatement.
But I'm still happy for the rest of you!!!
from Shane today….
”I have seen movement with some units, but your car remains on hold”
Might be worth pushing harder. If yours is DEFINITELY a wheel issue, maybe demand they send it with the “minor cosmetic” wheel issue and agree to bring the car in for a swap later?

Exactly. Dealers do cosmetic repair to vehicles off of the factory transports everyday. There is even terminology for it but I forget. At least that is the procedure they did to an S550 I bought years ago when salesman forgot to remove gasoline hose after fillup and proceeded to drive off. The whole scratched wheel thing is about as fishy a tale as I have heard in a while.

Already tried. The answer was no. With regards to this being a fish tail, I don't think the plant GM would lie about it as it could come around to bite him. He's the one that confirmed what the issue was.
On a positive note, I sent an email to Dennis Fichtner about an extended warranty I had inquired about last month letting him know that I may not have the car for a while (which he wants you to have before purchasing an extended warranty from him). He sent me a reply that included a screen shot of my vehicle history from a GM database. In it it stated my GM warranty start date was 11/30 - meaning they may have released my car from QC hold on 11/30. If this is true, the car may hopefully ship next week. Here's to hoping this is true.

DaveO why don't you send an email to Mary Barra and tell her about your delays. She want see it but someone in her office will respond. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. mary.barra@gm.com. Good Luck

I thought they said it was just a cosmetic scratch , now they referred to It as a fish tail when they spoke to u ? In the world of welding inspections we refer to a fish tail as a piece of porosity that has a tail like " Crack " that extends off of the porosity . That defect can be found in anything welded , cast or forged. If they said fish tail then these are not just cosmetic scratches, these are cracks, which is why they aren't releasing the cars without getting new wheels.

I was responding to SouthernSon who referred to this whole wheel issue story as a "fish tale", or in other words, not true. Maybe I didn't make sense (and see now that I used tail instead of tale). Take another look at his post above.

Ohhhhhh ok I see , I thought u were referring to the wheel defect. Well hopefully this week is the week that qc hold ends for u guys.

Although I haven't written to Mary, I have written to some very high profile people within GM. They are not responding as I don't think they want their words posted in an open forum for everyone to see as has happened here with Kai Spande and since been deleted.
However, as I posted last night, I think mine may be off of QC hold per the GM database screen shot I received from Dennis.
Black tridents N5106145. Been at 3800 for 5 weeks. MM knows nothing. It is a Chevy. Going to be shipped from factory to a San Jose, Ca dealer. Expect
trucking and SJ dealer delays to come.

You and I are in the same batch of 16 cars MacMulkin is still awaiting delivery that were put on QC hold for the wheel issue - spanning VIN's from mine at 5772 to yours at 6145. I'm hopeful from the screen shot I saw from the GM database that we are finally off of hold and ready to be shipped.

That's great news! I hope it makes the delivery truck to the West Coast for you. I haven't heard any movement on mine, but I'm hoping you getting yours soon, means that they will start moving on the rest of the Sept. allocations that are on hold soon.

If the cars with wheel problems stop at 6145 I wonder what the rest of us built on 11/8-11/10 are waiting for (6182-6525)? This not knowing what is going on and when it will be fixed is sure frustrating.
I am waiting for a yellow C8.R. Its worth $20k more than the MSRP I paid. Kinda suspicious it might be diverted to someone willing to pay more than I did.

The VIN's I listed are only those that are on the MacMulkin order tracking spreadsheet. I didn't mean to insinuate that the issue stopped at VIN 6145. Only that that is the last one listed on the MacMulkin spreadsheet still sitting at BGA from an early November build. I'm sure there are others from other dealers on hold as well that may go beyond 6145. And as an FYI, the next one on MacMulkin's spreadsheet that hasn't shipped is 7261. All those in between 6145 and 7261 have already shipped. Hope this makes sense.
There is another post specific to this new ordering system but I thought I would post this here. Based on the article, it doesn’t appear this new automated system will be available to help us on hold. Anyone who is 3000 or beyond can’t jump on to it.
