Default Poor C8 gets Mauled

Perfect example of why I try to park extremely far away from any other vehicles

No. A parked car(the C8)is not at fault. That's the most idiotic thing I've read on here in a while.

There would be a labyrinth of tongue-lashing, vulgarity, and hate that would come from my mouth if that happened to me.

Default just the facts ma'am.....

The other day in the Wally World parking lot, a huge Ram 3500 dualie with a 5th wheel plate was trying to park in a close to the door spot. I watched from a distance as he rocked back and forth to try an squeeze the beast in. He was trying to back in as well, must be a common affliction. Finally gave up and pulled away. I tracked him to make sure I was not in harm's way. In the North 40. Folks with these monster trucks buy in over their heads. Make zip sense.

I don’t think he took up 2 spots. The spot is just wide.

How do they compensate you for the 12-14mos you’ll be without a car?

Don't think it was done on purpose...just a bad driver with poor judgement backing into the parking space. The C8 was not taking two spaces, it was just not centered in the wide parking space.

Literally made me say Oh Sheesh out loud when I saw the pic. Wouldn't be surprised if the guy was actually driving out of the spot instead of backing in it.

Man if he was driving out of that spot then I really think he did do that on purpose .

The truck is so high and the corvette is so low, he probably didn’t even see it at all especially if he was approaching the truck from the drivers side before getting in. Gonna be a very expensive mistake for sure.

That is basically what happened to my C6 only it was a lifted 4 door Wrangler mall crawler. She caught it at the drivers door then tore in to the quarter panel, and somehow kept going and her wheel crushed the rocker panel downward and the damaged the rear wheel and suspension. She actually pushed the car almost 45 degrees in its space.

And she said she did not see nor feel it hit. Just the chance you take driving these things. The stupid is everywhere.

I agree. Someone not use to driving a long big truck, moved forward a foot or so and started the turn not watching the passenger side mirror.

One of my several reasons for not taking the Interstste to town!
  • 18 wheelers barreling with a container trying to make the port in Chareslton may have been up 12+ hours and running on Benzidrine may not see me!
  • 18 Wheeler tire treads that Pick-ups and SUVs I might be following just go over and there goes my splitter!
  • Have to stay below ~78 mph as my Radar detector goes off with every troper going the other way! (Never was an issue with my truck.)
  • Lot more fun taking back roads with many turns the 20 miles to town mostly past farm fields, few homes, or traffic. Cotton and corn don't care how fast i go!
