0 reason to put a screen protector on, the touch screens made now do not scratch, unless you are Freddy Krueger......
I'm not looking to protect it from scratches. I'm looking to protect it from the oils on my hands that seem to wear through any screen and make marks after awhile.

The sun will not come up in the West tomorrow. Don't worry about it.
In the dark ages of cell phones, screens were prone to scratching in normal use. The material wasn't very hard. Today, tablet, phone, etc. screens are hard as a diamond. You don't need a screen protector. But somethings just never die. Screen protectors just one of them.
I would disagree on cell phones. I've had a couple screen protectors be the sacrificial lamb for dropping my phone.
Xpel has a template in their database for the C8 infotainment screen and extends to start button area. Getting it when I go in for my rocker panel fix from a rock hit on my original Xpel install.
Magnetic phone mount with a bendable base. It has 6 magnets which is almost too strong for the lightweight detector. I would buy one with 4 magnets if I did it again.
Found it while watching YouTuber “Brink of Speed” 5 CHEAP and EASY C8 Corvette Mods video. It installs just like XPEL but is made specifically for the C8 infotainment screen. Not cheap.
I had the HPO one and had my local guy install it. It fit well and looked OEM. However, I removed it because when the sun hit it, I could see his (installers) big *** thumbprint on the underside of the film and I am WAY too OCD for that. I am not putting anything back on and am only using the factory cloth to wipe it down as needed.
Had the installer not %#!? it up, I would have left it.
Note: removal was easy and left no trace it was ever there.
$40 lesson learned.

I just never touch my screen. I’ve had my C7 for 4 years and the screen has never felt skin. I just keep a sunglasses cloth handy and use it to touch my screen. I try to use the controls the most I can.

I got the Xpel film that was sold pre-cut by HPO and installed it myself (maybe I am too OCD too), and I didn't get any trash, debris, fingerprints or anything else like that under the film. Which is a challenge because it's a big and awkward piece of film with some thin areas.
