Default Touch screen protector

What touch screen protector are you using, if any? Any touch screens I've used on cars always get finger prints on them, and after awhile they seem to wear that area out. Since the C8 is my nicest car I've owned, I'd like to keep that area in decent shape too.

My mom puts clear plastic covers on her sofas…says it saves the sofa and it looks like new when she’s ready to replace it with a new sofa.

I'm in for this too. So far I have used a generic screen protector from Amazon that I trimmed, it's sufficient but sub-optimal.

I have never used one, and never realized one was needed, on any of several cars I have had - even the daily drivers that I drove over 100K miles. But you are not the only one who has asked about this - there are other threads. Some expressed a concern that the application of a screen protector could itself cause a problem over time. I use an OTTER box to protect my phone, but that is more about protection from shock and the possible minor liquid spill.

I still have the factory vinyl screen laminations intact for both dash and touch screen. I've smooth out the bubbles so both screens look readable. Eventually, I'll probably replace the main screen. It looks like a tablet-sized screen protector will work. You may need to measure and cut down to size to fit the main touch screen.

Not needed. How often are you touching the screen anyway? No noticeable wear after 18 months and 12k miles.

In the dark ages of cell phones, screens were prone to scratching in normal use. The material wasn't very hard. Today, tablet, phone, etc. screens are hard as a diamond. You don't need a screen protector. But somethings just never die. Screen protectors just one of them.

I do not use a screen protector in my C7. I find that it is seldom that I have a need to touch the screen.

None... worse than the bare screen and nothing really to protect it from, given location and use.

This is what I have, but haven't installed it yet. It is cut nicely to cover around the home screen/volume ****, plus extends to cover all of the black plastic around the start/stop button.

My C7 at 60k and 5 years had some wear spots on the screen. Almost looked like part of the coating was wearing off.

I used a tempered glass screen protector made for an iPad Mini. 2 pack for $6 fits well.

You should tell her she doesn't need to spend the money for the covers if no one is allowed to sit on the sofa.

0 reason to put a screen protector on, the touch screens made now do not scratch, unless you are Freddy Krueger......
