I hit the button near the window controls and it just folded the mirrors in. How do I make them fold down temporarily? I looked at the manual but it doesn't seem to say other than what I already hit.

That button is to fold the mirrors (you can also have the mirrors fold automatically when you get out of the car)
To temporarily TILT the mirrors you have to change the setting in PERSONALIZATION:

Another option is to use one of the "seat" memories so if you are the only driver and use memory Setting1, you can position the seat the same as 1 and then reposition the mirrors tilted down and use memory Setting 2. Then if you want the mirrors tilted down Press 2 and to return to standard Press 1.
