What's everyone doing aftermarket for the LED engine bay lighting? It seems I recall someone getting good results from some Amazon Puck lights but I can't find that post....
I posted this in another thread. I used the small puck lights from amazon. Here is a pic installed as well as a pic on where I placed the lights. I also painted them black so they are not easily seen.

Yep there are wired DIY's BUT if you just want to use them occasionally as I do when someone askes "To see the engine" at night these work fine.
Can buy two for <$15 on Amazon. Mine are smaller thn some and waterproof. Can float in a pool. They use 3 AAA batteries 9which have lasted over a year.) Others a bit larger use AA and a smaller uses a small KEY FOB type battery. This is a How To PDF: http://netwelding.com/Engine_Lights.pdf

A direct link to the product on Amazon would be really helpful.

Put these in right after I got the car and haven't used them EVAR. Car just isn't out at night at any shows. Plus, it's my DD and the engine bay is filthy.
Since Forum Vendors would not be selling these I included.
Always find it funny with Amazon as the same product is offered and source has in 1 and 3 quantiles and had to find this link which gave an option for 2! Guess being from China not surprising!
I did the PowerLabs cable that uses the OEM engine appearance package lights. Seamless, no batteries, no remote needed….just push the rear defroster button. I added some orange Laminx film for the color over the lights.

Already purchased and they all worked well. I painted them black and am ready to install next week when my car comes. They work well using the remote in my garage. I don’t see why they won’t work in the car as long as you are close enough.
I just put these little pucks in and used that heavy duty scotch double sided tape. They’re really small about 1” diameter and 2 of them do the job pretty well. I like that they fit in the slots for the stock kit, they’re barely noticeable.
Lots of us I chose mini lights from Amazon 10 lights including batteries with 2 remotes. Only used 2. Fir over the screw holes. Painted them black. Only about 1” in diameter.
Ok

just got a set, I liked the idea of painting them black, I will do the same. Do they come with with 2 sides tape?
I use battery operated strip lights and painted the housing black. They are attached with double sided tape. You can also change colors like the other LED's on the market.
I have posted this in a previous thread, but since the question came up again, here is my effort to light the engine compartment with LEDs. This is actually a strand of 8 individual lights designed for a pick up truck bed. I found them at O'Reillys Auto Parts. I simply wired them into the courtesy lights in the trunk. Attached with 3M double stick. They have been installed for almost 2 years, and continue to do their job.
I did 4 strip LED lights mounted in the engine bay for evening car shows, etc..... They can change to about a dozen different colors and also change to the music if you choose, although I only leave them on solid RED..... Amazon... they were $9.99 when I bought them last summer.
Attached one to each side rail near the engine, and 2 are on the back side facing forward towards the engine. All are powered off of a separate 12V small battery in the trunk so not even tied to the car's electrical system.

Reason: added link to Amazon
Used the same pucks, Put small round stickers on the LED lights. Courtesy of my grandkids. Then painted flat black and then removed the stickers that left a clean look. I then velcro'd them to the rear window. Hides their appearance a little more. FWIW

Velcro was a good idea however I used double sided with no problem either. Who knows maybe we r overthinking the sticky part of the equation! 😜 😂
