Either way, I will call them Monday and ask to speak with any of the people mentioned here.

You have to take the course within one year. Something you were told in July 2022 and is quite clearly spelled out in the offer you received when you purchased the car.

If you had called in July 2022, and I find it curious that you don’t reference your previous thread from 2022 that I linked here, and were told the course was booked up through the rest of 2022, I am pretty sure Spring Mountain would have worked with you.

It is not clear to us whether you called in July 2022 and wasn’t able to get a date within a year of purchase or not because you do not say if you called Spring Mountain or not in 2022. You only mention calling a sales representative in January 2023 asking for extension from GM.

No one here is going to be able to help you because it appears that you didn’t call to book the course in January 2022, July 2022, or in 2022 at all (again, just based upon your posts here and in the July 2022 thread).

You really only have two options:

1. Go back into the July 2022 thread and call the number to Spring Mountain that you were given and see if they will work with you.

2. Call and book a date for the course and pay full price.

Good luck.

If he would have called back in July 2022, and could not get a date scheduled, I could understand his frustration. But if he did not call, and waited until January 2023 to ask for an extension, I would think GM would tell him to pound sand.

I recall reading that the car will go in limp mode if just one sensor shows a problem but if you don't have any it won't go into limp. Maybe something to look into. Worth some research and perhaps some experimenting.

I would have been fine with going before June 2023 had my unresponsive sales rep been in contact with me and not told me that in April 2023. I had a year as everyone else did. The process for the extension has been horrendous.
Let's be honest here, you fire off an email in the same month that your time period ends, then you sit on your hands, wait for the last day to lapse, then you start calling?
Anything that is important, you don't leave it up to an email or a text message, you need to CALL someone and you should have contacted them a lot sooner.

I contacted them 4 months before my expiration because I had military orders and was overseas. It was nice that GM gave me an extension of time, but I had to send them a copy of my documentation and from what I understand this is "rarely" done.

I understand your logic, but I also can see why probably 9 out of 10 people would not. It may be an oblique connection but, "caveat emptor" means something. In this case, you were the buyer no matter where you are today, yesterday or last year. As the buyer it's up to you to know the rules of the purchase--in this case of Spring Mountain and GM. If you go past a deadline, for whatever reason, anything or anyone that gives you an extension without charge is called, "a favor." A favor doesn't guarantee that you get another on top of that one.

It sounds to me as if you've run out of "favors." You can try, but my suggestion is, don't be surprised if you don't get another one.

At this point it can't hurt to make the call on Monday and see if by some miracle you can get another extension, but don't get your hopes up too high.

During that call, I would find out what dates are open and PICK ONE. Then pray GM says OK.
At some point you have to **** or get off the pot.

I will call Monday. My whole point is that my sales rep never told me about the extension until April. I would have booked it in January when I spoke to them on the phone originally if they told me the extension is until June.

Having read this thread, the title is wrong. I don't see a problem with Spring Mountain.

One word says it all; entitled.

"I failed to follow the rules, but GM was nice enough to grant me an extension, but I couldn't take advantage of that one so I expect them to grant me another."

I expected Spring Mountain to let me know in January that the extension expires in June. Not in April. Instead the rep ghosted me after I spoke to her in January. That's their fault, not mine. I could have taken advantage of it.

You were given an extension. You failed to take advantage of it. You were REMINDED by them that they had given you an extension you have not used, providing you with yet another opportunity to schedule a date OTHER PEOPLE WANT to use..

And you blame them for that? Seriously?

For someone who is meticulous............. you sure seem to have a hard time making a basic reservation. If your flight gets cancelled do you wait for the airline to call you or do you jump on them to rebook?

There are 1000s of us who have done spring mountain some several times. Search the posts on here for issues. All you will find are positive experiences. How can all the rest of us pull this off and you have such significant challenges?

If everyone got an extension there would be a bigger waiting line.

Rules need to be followed. Look in the mirror theres the problem, no spring mountain,

People aren't necessarily going to chase you around. Next time if something is important call and follow up.

Lesson learned.

It's worth the $3600. Enjoy it.

I booked my course the week I picked up my car in March 2022. Locked in my course, lodging (at Spring Mountain on the premises), flight, and rental car on the same day. The OP was advised in the July 2022 thread of what he needed to do.

LMAO - gotta be honest this might be the dumbest "problem" to have with the purchase of your new car. not to beat a dead horse but as everyone else has said, this is 100% your fault. pick up the phone.
