Default Spring Mountain problems

Anyone have a good Spring Mountain contact? My sales representative has been very unresponsive. I asked about an extension to the year because I bought my C8 in January 2022.

In January 2023 I called Spring Mountain and was told by the sales rep they would contact General Motors and apply for an extension. This was after the initial person I spoke to on the phone was basically just a secretary and had this sales representative call me back eventually.

Late February I received what appears now to be a mass email from the sales rep with future dates for the two day class. I email about a date in September and hear nothing back.

I email again mid April, two weeks ago, asking for a follow up and the sales rep responds that they didn't see any email from me (that's not possible). They also said my extension was granted until June 2023.

I replied that had I known in January 2023 about the June extension, I could have planned for June. I've filled my calendar until August now, so that's not possible. I asked for another extension and received no response.

Anyone have any suggestions? This experience has been nothing short of horrendous.

I'd call them and stop with the emails, they were very professional when I arranged my visit.

You had 2 1/2 years to go as opposed to the courtesy 1 year that they offer and the fact that they won’t give you another extension is horrendous? I suggest you call and talk to someone other than “just a secretary” since you called one time over a year and a half ago. I found Darci at 800-391-6891 ext 224 to be very responsive but I would not be surprised if they don’t offer another extension.

I had the dates wrong. I just edited my original post. My apologies. I meant I put my deposit down January 2021 and the car was delivered January 2022, and I called January 2023 asking for an extension. I would have been fine with going before June 2023 had my unresponsive sales rep been in contact with me and not told me that in April 2023. I had a year as everyone else did. The process for the extension has been horrendous.

Maybe I am missing something, but you took delivery in January 2022, and you waited 12 months to ask for an extension? As others have said, I would call. I went last May and I had no trouble getting in touch with them, but I always called. Good luck to you.

Yes, I wasn't really sure I was going to go at the time with other commitments. I asked for an extension within 365 days of purchasing my C8.

oh, that makes more sense. Seriously, give Darci a call. She was very helpful when I needed an extension. However, I only needed a couple weeks. I’m pretty sure they will take care of you. Very nice people.

From what I know, Spring Mountain needs GM to agree to an extension, since GM pays for part of the class. They, apparently it was GM, did grant a beyond January 2023 until June, 2023. But from what I've read you declined that and wanted a date beyond June. Maybe someone at GM or Spring Mountain has ran out of silver bullets to help you. Keep trying, it's a worthwhile experience.

So you didn’t call and book a space back in July 2022 when you asked about this before?

You might be out of luck. The offer for the course and the requirement to book a date within a year of taking delivery is pretty cut and dried. When you asked about this last July, you were given the number and told to just book any available date. You had from July of last year until January of this year to just call and book a date. Spring Mountain is quite responsive. I booked my class within two days of taking delivery of my car last year (took delivery in March 2022).

I am pretty sure GM isn't going to grant you an extension for something you had plenty of time to book yourself and Spring Mountain is under no obligation to offer you the discounted rate at this point.

If you had called when you got the information to do so last year in July, you could have booked anytime as the course has to be BOOKED within a year, not attended within a year.

Correction: The course has to be attended within a year. However, you had plenty of time to book.

Mostly correct but the person didn't tell me until mid-April. I never declined in January. I would have happily went by June if she would have been responsive and told me in January.

You originally brought this up in a thread in July 2022. You were given a number to call. Why didn't you call in July?

I would have booked in January when I called about an extension but the person said I had to attend it within a year, or she would have to file for an extension from GM. Was she wrong or is what you're telling me wrong? If she was wrong then this isn't my fault at all since I was ready to book it.

You originally asked about this on the Forum in a thread you started in July 2022. You could have called and booked for any available date then, even into 2023, and no extension would have been necessary.

If you have such a "tight" schedule in your life, suggest you park or sell until such time you have to be available for three days of enjoyment and learning all about your Corvette. The world doesn't turn on your whims and everyone has to make time for special activities. Rant over!

I called within a year wanting to book it. What's the answer to my previous question?

I'm not even in the country right now. I planned a different vacation for a month because I heard nothing back from the sales rep. I plan my schedule out meticulously. No clue what you're talking about.

I answered your previous question.
You asked:
I would have booked in January when I called about an extension but the person said I had to attend it within a year, or she would have to file for an extension from GM. Was she wrong or is what you're telling me wrong? If she was wrong then this isn't my fault at all since I was ready to book it.

You have one year from the date you take delivery to take the course. I am pretty sure that if you booked it in July 2022 when you asked the Forum about this course, you could have gotten a date, even if all of the dates for 2022 were booked up. Lack of availability would not have been your fault. According to your OP in this thread, you didn't call until January of 2023, which would mean (depending on the day), you missed your opportunity to get the discounted rate from GM. However, in your thread in July of 2022, you were told what you needed to do and given good numbers to call Ron Fellows/Spring Mountain.

Did you call them in July 2022?
