BUT….i thought in order for your warranty to continue you do have to bring it in to a certified dealer and have records of these procedures being done. Hence if your car does have an issue, GM will honor warranty. Is that to be true?.....
The manual says this, about that. Notice it does advise the owner to get a copy of the Service Manual.
Thank you for posting this. I have had the dealer change mine twice now (free one and one I bought) and neither time did the tech do the flush. He says he doesn't do it since driving the car runs the fluid through the filter. In my mind, if it didn't accomplish anything, why would it exist? I will be buying one of these tools. How easy it it to upgrade the software?
Just bought one. Not ready for DCT flush on mine, but hopefully some will list out full flush procedure.
I think Andybump had listed the flush procedure on one of the many DCT discussions.
Awesome find! Will buy one for sure as I’m always one to do my own maintenance mainly for 2 reasons. Save $ and I enjoy doing it. Also in my area I’m not sure how much I trust the dealers around me.

also, I thought these devices have to do the flush in some sort of sequence. Still waiting for that info to be public and I’ll wait and see if someone actually does it on a 20k tranny and what the effects afterwords are. Again I’m still buying it ( mainly for error codes and clearing) and doing my free change for sure but I’m hoping for future after that I can do myself but just nervous if something goes wrong and they check records it’s your words against their proof.

I will be a chicken and wait for a full DIY instructional thread on here before I screw mine up. I too will buy the tool, but I need some step by step instructions first.
There are lots of C8 maintenance Guru's on this forum. When it comes to DCT issues of any kind, I trust the opinions of Kracka, Andybump, RKCRLR, JerryU, and many more C8 Guru's that I failed to mention.
When you read through threads and answers, you can tell which guys perform experimental maintenance from the ones who really know their ****.

The software update process is very easy. Connect it to a power source (it comes with a USB cable), connect it to WiFi, and then select the software update procedure. It takes only a few minutes. Then, go out to your car, plug it into the OBDII port, and away you go!

That would be illegal according to the federal Magnussen-Moss Warranty Act; imagine a manufacturer trying to monopolize all maintenance/service including oil changes in this fashion? Same logic.
Just keep the receipts of the transmission fluid you purchased, log the date you changed it, and maybe take a picture/screenshot of the scan tool performing the flush procedure. That's all you need.

This is my same thoughts....... I would buy one, but I need to see the proper GM procedure spelled out in detail of WHAT to do, and HOW to do it step by step.
For those who have bought one, PLEASE post your findings from using it.
Is it user friendly? Do I need to have an advanced Computer Science Degree to operate it?
This is from something someone else posted. I cannot find that original post. I really recommend that anyone doing this should actually get an official copy of the Service Manual as recommended in the Owner's Manual.
This is a bit confusing since its says a condition for running the procedure is engine running. But then a later step says ignition in service mode. Once the HSF is initiated, it says follow instructions on the Scan Tool. I wonder if the aftermarket tool will have the instructions. Will it tell you to start the engine if it is in service mode?
Conditions for Running the Procedure:
Brake Pedal = Applied
Engine = Running
Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor = Warmer than 50°C (122°F)
Transmission Range = P> or N>
Ignition >> On / Vehicle >> In Service Mode (confusing, since it says engine running, just above under conditions for running the procedure)
Select: Module Diagnostics
Select: K71 Transmission Control Module
Select: Configuration/Reset Functions
Select: Hydraulic System Flush Procedure
Follow the instructions on the scan tool. The procedure will complete within 8> min

As long as keep receipts, log your service, and can show some justification that you did it "by the book" GM can't deny you warranty coverage without justification.
One concern I would have is if the tool actually does the HSF correctly. These aftermarket companies usually have to reverse engineer procedures like this and there is no easy way to determine if it is the same procedure that the GM tool does. If GM finds out it doesn't do the procedure correctly then that could be a reason to deny warranty coverage. But I think that is unlikely.
