The latest Launch update has what appears to be the automated DCT hydraulic flush procedure. Several software versions prior had the flush procedure, but listed the individual steps instead.
Next filter change I am going to remove the filter on the car now, install a new one and then run this procedure with this clean filter. Afterwards, I'll remove this filter I used for the flush only and then cut it open for inspection.
This bidirectional scanner is the Launch X-431 Torque Link.
Completed the DCT fluid and filter change today.
I used an authentic MDI2 and the three day GDS 2 subscription to run the hydraulic fluid flush cycle before changing the fluid and filter and the hydraulic leak test afterwards.
Sure, it’s more time consuming than an oil change, but certainly not enough to warrant what the dealership charges.
I’ll create a thread with some screenshots and the contraption I used to fill the DCT.
One thing of note, is the fluid flush forces fluid through the filter. However, even after a flush, filter removal and drain there’s 1.5qts of fluid remaining in the transmission. It’s important after the initial fill to cycle through drive, reverse and neutral to allow the fluid to fill all the channels then top off again before allowing it to warm over 50C to conduct the leak test.

So, were the 7 individual procedures deleted? Or are they still there too?

So , how would I purchase one of these. I went to Amazon and it seems like there are multiple units with this name. Which one do I want?

I am going to connect to the car again later. When requesting this procedure, a brief description is given such as engine/trans temps, service brake applied and the time it takes to complete. The time is what I am going to focus on. If it is the same as the MDI 2 gives, then I think this is the automated procedure.
This is what I have been asking Launch to add to their software for a few months now. The only way I am going to know is by running the program.
To answer your question, selecting the flush procedure starts the program. It does not open up to the individual steps like the earlier software.

That's what I am thinking. Prior to this, I was never certain that the HSF was simply an automated process of stepping through the 7 individual procedures. But if they have been deleted from the menu - then that would appear to be the case. I think then those individual procedures should now be deleted from the Service Manual as well. Someone did recently post a later version of the service manual - and the HSF procedure is in there, but I can't find the individual cleaning procedures any more. My earlier version had the 7 individual procedures but did not have the HSF.
Scrolling through the reviews for the scan tool on Amazon I see mostly positive ones except for a couple. This however made me sit up and take notice:
>>Bought this Launch Creader understanding that it would be a bi-directional OBDII monitor with brand-proprietary code support for one brand, can add software modules supporting other brands after purchase. While all that is true, what they don't tell you is that software supporting ANY outgoing commands (like Reset Brake Module) are in-app purchases at $34.04US/yr EACH. Each of the advertised 16 "Calibration Functions" (using outgoing commands) appear to require a $34.04 per year subscription. All software add-ons (for additional brands or outgoing commands) cost $34.04 per year. <<<

It is confusing. X-431 is a family of scanners with different models within the group. You need to confirm with someone that their particular model scanner has the capabilities you want. I downloaded the product page from the Launch home page and chose what I thought would work for me. I wanted a higher end scanner, but a less expensive model might be what you want. I googled X-431 Torque Link for the best price and bought it from JB tools for $1799.
Ok - yes the 7 separate procedures were deleted. As note, I thought there was some other evidence that it was going in that direction.
There is a bulletin that I have posted a few times that includes performance of one or more of the 7 cleaning procedures followed by the Hydraulic System Flush. However there is an update to that bulletin - "Revised November 10, 2022 – Added Attention statement, removed Correction section to add an Information section, removed the Service Procedure, Parts Information and Warranty Information sections." And it replaces all of the procedure in the previous bulletin with "If any of the P-codes are set, perform a transmission service diagnostic test. Refer to Transmission Service Diagnostic Test in the Service Manual." In other words, the Service Manual has now been updated so that the procedural information in the bulletin is not needed. And when I look in a later version that was posted on the forum, I find the HSF but not those other procedures.

For those that have the tool, Is that right?
You can purchase additional functionality and compatibility. I have not paid any additional fees for the various C8 procedures. I've used my tool on multiple MY21/22/23 C8s, as well. I plan to purchase the additional compatibility for Jeep vehicles.
I just received reply back from Kingbolen who sells the Launch X431. She stated this model (X431) will not perform HSF on corvette. It also looks like Mitchell B uses the Launch Tech X431 Torque Link model, which is $2,000. I also thought it would be worth mentioning that Launch and Launch Tech USA are two different companies. Launch who makes the $160 X431 C reader elite that is sold on Amazon is an overseas company. Launch Tech USA makes the legit one that MItchell B is using. Now I know 22c8Z51 posted a screen shot of the Hydraulic flush on the Launch X431 small version. However, after asking "Launch" they stated the small handheld X431 will not perform HSF. Launch models CRP919E ($372.00) / CRP919EBT ($455.00) / X431V ($860.00) will be able to perform the HSF per reply in screen shot. I contacted Launch Tech earlier and they confirmed that they do not sell their scanners on Amazon or Ebay.

If it is not on listed in this line up card, then it is not a Launch Tech tool.
