Correct, I hope I mentioned that properly. Although you had the short and to the point answer.

Also Here is the reply from the Amazon vendor:

Hello Dear, Yes, our Launch CRP919EBT scanner can perform Hydraulic System Flush Procedure on 2023 and 2024 Chevy Corvette, can't do it on other years. If you have any other questions, pls feel free to contact us: kingbolen-sales02@hotmail.com. Regards!"

It is likely that the earlier Launch software with the seven individual cleaning steps allows you to perform the equivalent of the automated procedure on 2020 through 2022 Corvettes.

If the hydraulic system flush is running through some or all the above steps you still don't know which ones are performed, in what order they are performed, if one or more is repeated after some others are performed, etc.

Also, the response was for the CRP919EBT model. Perhaps some of the X431 models can perform the HSF on earlier C8s. Someone posted in the Amazon reviews for the Creader Elite that it could do the HSF on a C8 but didn't state the year or if he had actually done it.

Would it be possible that if the dealer already did the HSF once on an earlier year that the necessary updates to the TCU/ECU have already been performed? Or perhaps it was part of some other TCU/ECU updates that have been performed.

Until some people start reporting back I don't think we'll know for sure.

Note the model year & date/time; this is my personal car and scan tool. Tool is fully updated with no additional packages or subscriptions purchased.

18k miles

My dealer performed the 1st DCT filter replacement @ 6,866 miles in November 2021. At the same time, they reprogrammed the TCM with updated calibration #N212336960.

I'll perform the flush procedure as soon as I get my hands on a replacement DCT filter, then will do a full fluid/filter replacement next summer at the 3-year mark.

That update number you gave. Is that a number for one of the OTA updates, or is that something that must be done at the dealer.

General Motors has issued a service update to address a problem related to the Transmission Control Module in certain examples of the 2020 and 2021 model-year C8 Corvette Stingray.

The problem: in affected vehicles, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), after detecting a loss of communications, may incorrectly clear the “loss of communications” Diagnostic Trouble Codes upon switch off. If the loss of communication with the TCM persists, the vehicle may not detect it again when the vehicle is turned back on. If this were to happen, the transmission could operate in a default mode with no Diagnostic Trouble Codes reported and the Malfunction Indicator Light not illuminated.

The hazards: while this issue does not pose a safety hazard, it could prevent the vehicle’s transmission from performing as intended and should thus be addressed as soon as possible. This problem could also prevent the transmission from producing DTCs or an MIL if something more serious were wrong with the unit.

The fix: this problem can be remedied via an over-the-air software update. Owners can also have their vehicle serviced at a GM dealer to receive the software updates, although installing them on the vehicle’s touchscreen is a fairly straightforward process.

Affected components: Transmission Control Module (TCM).

Affected vehicles:
Owners should: Owners can accept the terms and conditions for over-the-air software updates in their vehicle’s touchscreen and perform the update themselves, or take the vehicle to a dealer for service. Owners with questions or concerns regarding this service bulletin can also reach out to GM using the contact information provided below.

Are you saying that is this update that Kracka mentioned: #N212336960?

Now that would have been some helpful information to include. Yes, and I updated the original post.

Connected to my car with the Launch and tried running the hydraulic flush procedure. This is what I got:

I am not sure what the issue is. I sent this to Launch for their review.

There is one more software update available. I will not be able to check this update for functionality until the weekend at the earliest. Can anyone else see if either version works?

It’s version 49.45 I think. I want to see if the software works. This means running the car up to temp - trans oil temp = or > 140 without getting any error messages.

I interpret this as meaning that the '23 and '24 cars have the HST software code already in the ECU / TCM, and earlier years don't. The Launch model referenced can only execute the built-in procedure, but isn't able to write the procedure into the ECU / TCM like the GM tool can.

The post below would seem to support the above:

Yeah. Except that screen where the failure happens says it was a 2023 car, doesn't it?

The car is a 2023 Z06. The latest software revision 49.45 does have the hydraulic flush procedure, but again, the question is will it work without any error messages. I will try again this coming weekend.

If anyone is interested, Amazon shows the Launch scanner with a 20% discount for the next 3 hours only. I just ordered one and it should be here by Sunday! It says that it will do the 23-24 stingray.
