Makes enough of a difference thermally to justify it--even without a reduction to light transmission.

Not a fan of having the brakes put on automatically if the radar/computer thinks I'm too close to the car ahead of me.

That's crazy cheap for top quality windshield tint. I know I'm paying a premium @ NCM - $500

$500 for the windshield alone?! $500 for just the windshield would be insane, but it sounds about right for the entire car.

No offense intended but you must be stuck in the year 2000! The material alone for an entire car cost about $800 - $1000 then add the labor you’re talking $3000 - $5000 to do the entire car depending on the shop and quality of material.

I'm talking window film here, not PPF. When I said entire car, I was referring to all the glass.

In August 2021, I paid $389 for my C8: Llumar CTX 30% doors & rear partition, Llumar Air80 windshield
In February 2023, I paid $725 for a Wrangler 4-door: Llumar IRX 30% front doors, Llumar Air80 windshield/rear doors/cargo/tailgate

Acoustic Windshield The vehicle is equipped with an acoustic windshield. If the windshield needs to be replaced be sure to get an acoustic windshield so you will continue to have the benefits an acoustic windshield can provide

??????
There was a note about the windshield being "acoustic" in one of my Ford vehicles. I had the windshield replaced by a local guy who did the windshield on my Challenger. The replacement did not have the note. I've not found a difference in sound from the speakers or road noise. My ears are shot from too many years flying without proper noise cancelling so, maybe I'm not a good judge on the difference.

I paid 225 for Xpel ceramic on my 2023 C8. It was discounted 25 as I did my C7 at same time. Well worth it.

If done correctly, installer will stick something like a long microfiber rope between the windshield and dash to prevent water from going down the crack and maybe a towel to cover the rest of the dash. I have had it done in the last three vehicles with no issues and not only does the right tint keep things relatively cooler, it helps prevent delamination of leather dash.

tint is not gonna affect the forward looking safety features. you're not really gonna get tint film wayyyyy up in there between the sensors and the glass. that stuff is way up in there and not really within the scope of the area which is covered by the tint itself.

get some 80% ceramic and carry on.

I just recently had the front windshield tinted 80% ceramic. At night I now see triple halos from lights. This is not the first vehicle I have tinted the front windshield, but never experienced before. Anyone experience this?

How long as the film cured for? If it's been over a week, then you likely have an issue and they should redo it. If it's been under a week, let it sit out in the sunlight for a day and see if that helps any.

Yes, after a motorcycle injury/ concussion - yellow/green halos around lights. Went away after 2-3 months, thankfully, -but i digress ...
