New car order code

I've seen mention of a code for folks waiting for their new Corvette such as "3000". What does this mean?

What it means...It means you are price protected at this point and its a buildable order without constraints and accepted by production. However your car is still in neutral it will be manufactured but exactly when is still a mystery at 3000 status. Once you hit 3300 its game on baby!
