According to video in the link, the guy at the dealer did a walk through and told the viewers only stingrays are opened and z06 list is closed. Ordering " back in the day" doesn't have anything to do with z06 just recently being put in production for c8 generation. Everyone rushed to get on a list at the beginning of production last yr where the plant is struggling with suppliers.
. To hear it from " the horses mouth " , copy and paste the YouTube link. The guy states you can still buy a z06 from there, but the ones at the dealer are marked up and list is closed. They're buying them from other dealers he says.

What you don't appear to understand is Ciocca took way to may orders for Z06's when they first started to take Hold-A-Spot orders. They returned many folks deposits because no way could they delivery those in the next few years. They did NOT want to hold onto folks deposits.

Dave Salvatore, the Sales Manager when I bought my 2008 C6 and still is, said when some dealers took early E-Ray orders starting in January 2013: "They were not going to make the same mistake." So where one dealer took >700 E-Ray orders in ~January 2013 at $4000 deposit/each (over $2,500,000) Ciocca did not! No dealer has any idea how many MY 2024 E-Rays GM will build or they can order this year! BUT some dealers still have a lot of "potential customer despots. "One way to make profit!"

Ciocca no doubt has more Z06 future orders that they know they can fill for MY 2024 and perhaps 2025! Why take Hold-A-Sport order deposits for more? Smart, good way to treat customers, IMO!

I don't know anything about all that. ONE asked if they could order a z06 at msrp from there, and I just relayed what the guy said in the video. That the list is closed for new buyers, but they can buy what they have on the lot for over MSRP. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Yep and what I am saying it's closed because they have too many Z06 Hold-A-Spot possible orders.

Did the same thing when the C8 came out. They stopped taking Hold-A-Spot orders for MY2020 C8s in September 2019 well before GM was taking orders for C*'s BECAUSE they felt that is all they would have an allocation to sell. I had placed my Hold-A-Spot order July 2019.

Most all other dealers just kept on taking orders and giving you a piece of meaningless paper to GM. It stated 1100 Order placed by dealer. After the first of 2020 when GM defined how many C8's a dealer could order most other dealers had to send "Sorry Letters" to those who had been told they were on the 2020 list. It said sorry you'll be getting a 2021! They did not have that problem or pissed of customers!

So IMO IF they have all the Z06 Hold-A-Spot orders for what they believe they will get allocations to sell in a reasonable time frame they may have stopped adding to their list. Other dealers my just add more, take a large deposit and earn interest on the money knowing full well they will not get allocations to purchase from GM for say 2024s.

Yep, except WHAT YOU "SAY SUCKS" is what some dealers are doing - NOT Ciocca. Dealers can continue to take Hold-A-Spot orders, give you a pretty looking sheet of paper that means nothing to GM and hold on to your required deposit KNOWING FULL WELL you may not even be getting a 2025 or 2026 Z06! Each dealer has a limited allocation of cars in demand. A good case is the E-Ray where no dealer knows how many they will be able to order from GM for 2024 etc.

Have to understand how the system works. Any dealer can take your deposit, put you on "their list" to get a Z06 WHEN GM GIVES THEM AN ALLOCATION for that order period. Yep, you're on "their list" BUT NOT have any hope of getting a GM allocation for a Z06 for many years. GM does not prevent that. Happened a lot early with C8s when demand was much higher than supply. Still the case with Z06 and for sure E-Rays!

Just setting the record straight as what dealers SUCK for those members trying to get models were demand exceeds supply. Have to be careful.
