So I have a 2021 C8 Z51 that was $90,000 out the door. The Z51 has 12,000 miles and I enjoy the car. My name is coming up on the Eray list and on the 2024 configurator the cost in $129,381 plus I would add PPF another $3,000. So I am thinking why do the Eray if there is a Corvette SUV coming out. The SUV would be more practical for vacations and if it has the 6.2 V8 would be fun to drive.
Porsche SUVs saved the brand. Bentley SUV is sold out for several years. Lambo, Ferrari, et al have SUVs that are on allotment. Brand extensions are the sign of the times. Cashing in on the Corvette cache makes total sense to me.
Can't help you with release date but the point you make about a Corvette SUV is precisely why Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghinni, etc. make them any why GM certainly will. Maybe the C9 won't need to carry 2 golf bags as every other sports car does not.

No way there is a 2025 SUV coming out without it already being cover endlessly in the automotive press. Will it happen eventually? Maybe but given the C8 is going into it’s sixth model year and there is nothing more than rumors I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I think several things keep people out of a corvette.
1. Lack of utility
2. Cost
3. Most Americans are too fat to get in and out of it.
GM could fix #1 and #2 with a silly suv vette. Not sure they would water down the Corvette name, but greedy pencil pushers at gm might not car about legacy 🤔
That same argument was made by the Porschephiles years ago. Now the profits from those SUV sales is the reason there are so many Porsche models offered each year. Of course "P" didn't lower any prices just increased their offerings and options. Also why you see Lamborghini, Maserati, etx...in the SUV game.
Agree we haven't seen real news about it but really their SUVs have taken on the Vette design so basically it would just be suspension and engine options with "CORVETTE" slapped on the front.
I hope GM doesn’t ***** out the Corvette and make an SUV using its nameplate. Zora would roll over in his grave.
what if it came out as an amazing design that gave families an option so that they could have both a corvette and a a corvette SUV so that you dont have to sacrifice driving the corvette for the family vehicle.
I dont want to see something cheesy, esp not what ford did with the mustang mach-e, but have you seen how amazing those lambo suvs are...they are absolutely incredible.
As with anything in this world - the original is always the best, but there are certain variants that can absolutly play off the original concept and succeed.
From what I have read, though Mary Ibara never talks about new models, Corvette will come out with a SUV in 2025. You can't have an SUV with a mid engine design so it will be a front engine. The discussion is that there would be 2 offerings 1) on the Cadillac CT 4 Frame with a 3.6 liter 472hp engine and 2) on the CT 5 Blackwing with a 6.2 liter 668 Hp engine. I assume they will be awd.
At this point they have AI renditions that look good. But the actual SUV could differ significantly from the AI rendition.
Totally agree,,,and yet your same statement was made by the Porschephiles years ago.
Porsche seems to have survived the humiliation.
Yes bc they made a high quality product that represented a broad brand and it's been well reweeved.
Chevy isn't just adding an suv to a brand, they are looking at a model variant - much harder to do...I'd really like to see them do it but it's going to be hard to pull off successfully....

This is an interesting subject for me! I was shocked when I noticed the total load capacity for my car was 431 pounds! What does a salesman do when a couple that weighs 600+ pounds is considering a corvette? What does GM do if an overweight or heavy couple makes a warranty claim that was caused by them overloading the car? If you think about it, it's not hard to exceed that load limit when you toss in some luggage!

You can’t seriously believe this?!?! There is no way you launch a new product with zero notice and even a mid year release would require talking about it now. Could they announce it in 2025? Sure. Could you even own one before the end of 2025? Maybe. Is it possible to be a MY2025? Not a chance.

I really hope GM steps up and builds a top notch SUV/Crossover type vehicle and with the rumored supercharged V8 available. I would be all over one of those for sure.
6' 3" 230 lbs. and am losing my desire to get down into things anymore. A Corvette SUV would be most interesting.
A lot about the fate of the Corvette 'brand' is uncertain. One thing that isn't is that there will be no Corvette SUV in 2025. You can take that to the bank. Every time they test a new variant, there are 200 spy pics and vids up within hours. You think they developed and tested a whole model and nobody noticed?
I don't think we need a corvette SUV. But I do think there is definitely a market for an AWD LT7 powered SUV--regardless of what moniker/badge it carries. It's great that the Escalade V has an LT4, but I don't think it's enough. Plus I would argue that Tahoe/Suburban size SUV is too big for it. GM doesn't have anything smaller that can fit a V8 though. GM hasn't really had something like that since the TrailBlazer SS.
