Blah, Blah, Blah... Top Tier.... Blah Blah..........

Chevron. If you can't get Chevron, . Shell...... .. Costco is OK too.

I won't run anything else. ... I did a cross country (and back) trip and planned my fuel stops to get only those brands.

(as a complete aside, there's and app called iExit that shows every service at every exit on the interstates, including food and motels. Invaluable for planning such a trip. Even shows prices!)

This is it exactly. Never ceases to amaze me how guys will spend 6 figures or more on a high performance sports car and then cheap out on the fuel that they run on which is critical to what they have invested in, absolutely stupid and just as bad as the *** clown who brings his own oil to a service appointment making himself look like a total jagoff to save a few bucks on his 125K car.

Where I live one can watch multiple brands pumped from the same lines. Some say different additives are put in, but I'd have to see it to believe it... especially having watched the same "no-name" tank trucks dispense to different brand stations the same trip.

Most tankers delivering gas have 5 separate tanks. So making multiple stops at different stations means nothing. Each tank can have a separate additive package added. The additive package is loaded along with the gas by an automated additive injection system. You can't see it happening.

I typically use Shell 93 but I store the C8 for 4-6 months and so at last fill before storage, I visit Chevron, dump some Stabil in and fill with PON 94. Its a few dollars more to fill but I am happy.

Yeah, but if it drops the octane level below 91 it actually does hurt the car according to GM.

I’ve used Shell gas since 1975 and never had a fuel related issue. Currently run only 93 octane. 87, 89 or 93 are the choices in Texas for pump gas. I figure why go cheap on fuel. Chevron would be my 2nd choice. Good additive package. I’m not sure the logic in running anything below 91 octane in a high compression engine where the manual states to not do so. Why risk it? For those states that only have 91 available, my suggestion is to add octane booster to be safe.

I use Chevron exclusively. Why? Because it has techron - An additive.

Google it… It’s the real deal…

“Actually does”… really?

And doing your DCT filter at 8500 miles will blow your DCT?

All of the manuals say that you can run 91 octane for street use, and they all require 93 octane for tracking. I run 93. As noted, the earlier manuals say 93 is "required" but 91 is fine. Bottom line, 91 is fine. Later manuals say 91 is required. Bottom line - 91 is fine. All the manuals say 93 is required for tracking.

My 2021 manual says if you run below 91 octane " the engine could be damaged and the repairs would not be covered by the vehicle warranty". The later manuals dropped that explicit caution but still say do not run below 91.

From reading the Service Manual, the ECM will detect knock and adjust the ignition timing to accommodate octane as low as 91. From reading the Owners Manauls, I think its safe to assume that it cannot pull the timing enough to accommodate octane below 91. But the Service Manual says there is a target timing advance that the ECM is trying to achieve, and it will work its way back to that if no knock is detected. And based on that, plus the fact that 93 is required for track use, I think that the car designed to fully use the 93 octane and will develop more power with that octane fuel. Its pulling timing to run on 91 octane.

There have been threads and posts where the timing advance was monitored while using even higher (than 93) octane fuel, and I think there is some evidence (others pay more attention to this than I do) that the timing can advance even further, and little more power can be develop. (and yes, its well known that there is octane level above which higher octane is wasted).

Thanks for the iExit tip. Did not know about that app. Looks like it would be very useful. Have already downloaded it!

I run Petro Canada 94, which is probably the old Sunoco 94, repackaged, and cross my fingers.
If I can't find PC 94, I use Pioneer Energy 91. So far, so good.
