I know it isn't official but if the soon to be announced GS takes styling cues from the past I think I want in. I'm on the list! I tried finding a manual C7 white with blue stripe as a yin/yang of my 96 but they are nearly impossible to find so I'm hoping for the best with a new C8 GS. Who else is excited and is getting in line?
You maybe waiting awhile. To my knowledge GM hasn't revealed a C8 GS.
I know it isn't going to be a bit, but as soon as i called a big Vette dealer they immediately told me the reveal will be April and was happy to work with me. 2nd dealer confirmed it is coming as well with the lead vette salesperson already on the list themselves.

Just a guess, the red one on the right is moving on?

That is my son's car. These are just 2 of 5. Trying to get a lift installed soon so I can stack 'em. If one goes the steel blue 1991 6 speed convertible with under 25k miles is on the short list

There's several C7 GS manual in white on Autotrader, they aren't unicorns. You'll just have to add your own blue stripe.
On the list for a C9 at my dealer. Just kidding. The GS will go the same way as before, special people first, lots of ADM, crazy $5-10,000 deposits subject to a lottery, and lots of lines. GM will play the FOMO to the hilt as they have done with the C8 SR, Z06, and ZR1.
I have always felt the same way until now. 525-550 hp in the mid engine C8 with a manual transmission has me interested. You are getting near-Z06 performance at less cost along with easier maintenance, especially with the manual transmission. I'm expecting this to be a torque monster for street fun.

GS will generate some sales, but I'm guessing they will be discounted. The only way a GS is selling over sticker in this current market is if it has a manual.

I'll wait until all that dies down.
I absolutely LOVE my Riptide Z51, it is such a great car!
However, I have to admit that I have unease in the back of my mind worrying about the C8 DCT despite buying an extended warranty. I wish that GM would have gone with a torque converter transmission like the ultra reliable ZF8 which is the best that exists, and is more than good enough for sport street duty.
I've had manual transmissions my entire life and never had a problem with any of them. This is why I'm in with the GS if it does come with a manual, and out with the DCT.

With all the GS chatter maybe it is time for the administrator to create a Grand Sport category under the C8 section…get it all organized in once place...
When past models of the Grand Sport were introduced, I cannot recall anyone buying at MSRP.
Forget the 1963 GS, as they were not showroom models. But the 1996, discounted heavily. Especially some of those with red interiors. Love it or leave it, many didn't want the red.
In 2009 when the cover was pulled from the red GS in the NCM Spire, I was there. My pics were some of the first shared with those outside the unveiling. But they were discounted too (when they arrived in 2010).
How about for the C7? Not even the gray with blue trim interior models brought a premium. So why would a C8 GS be different?
As another said, the manual transmission would make it exciting, but would it change what Corvette buyers want to pay?

Probably not a separate category is needed with both SR and GS having the same engine.
